Lord D with the strength in depth we now have we can afford to rest players against these 'smaller' teams :)

Heaven forbid what a great victory there's some serious spirit in that squad and 6 goals in 2 games and we were all concerned as to where the goals were going to come from. Roll on Yeovil.....just hope I'm not speaking too early.....strap yourself in for the Stanley roller coaster!

The second-round draw will take place live on Sky Sports News on Thursday at around 10pm following the Bury versus Sunderland televised Round One tie.

It's seeded and we'll be in the bottom 25 teams. There will be 13 Premiership sides in the top 25 teams.

Superb display from 2 good sides tonight Prestons finishing i thought let them down, when clark made it 2-1 with a super goal the great mood was SPOILT by KNOBHEADS letting flares off, no doubt Stanley are likely to be fined for this STUPIDITY, the winner came from a great corner from sean mac. in fact that corner won the game for us,the brighton lads and the great dane looked ok i thought overall an awesome squad has been assembled this season, roll on Yeovil.

Great game sat next to loads of Preston fans who were in hospitality they thought we played some excellent stuff and thoroughly enjoyed their evening. My man of the match for what it,s worth was Hughes brilliantly led the back line looks rosy for the season let's hope for a big gun next round.

Can't imagine what that was like in the Clayton End. Following the last five minutes via the BBC Sport live text was purgatory! On Stanley On!!

Thrilled by a real fighting performance by the reds, heartbreak at 2-2 how can we not see the 3 mins out, elation at 3-2, but feel for Preston fans who at 2-1 they filed out of the ground, at 2-2 they were running back in and all most immediately turned tail and file back out as Stanley went 3-2,

Sorry, can't share the feeling for any Preston fans who were leaving at 2 - 1, you don't leave before the final whistle & the fat lady has sung her last note:)

Re: PNE Thread

Having slept on last nights game, I decided my earlier one-word superlative was inadequate to describe the true magnitude of this victory.
Make no mistake, this was no fluke win. We took on and beat a Championship club who arrived determined to show who was the boss in this match.
Preston were skilful & fast. Their one-touch passing was a joy to behold.
Yes! On another day, they could have scored 3 or 4 goals & as Cashy pointed out, their finishing was their downfall.
But, when they began to put us under pressure after their first equaliser, there was the Great Dane pulling off some great saves & plucking high balls from the air with ease.
Ours was a performance of guts & determination.
After Jordan's 86th minute goal to restore our lead, a lesser team would have thrown in the towel when Preston equalised in the 91st minute.
But this team showed their mettle to stun our opponents with a deserved winner in the 93rd minute.
I think MOM was given to Hornby-Forbes, who was brilliant throughout.
But every Stanley player deserved praise for their 'never-say-die' attitude.
After last night, we need fear no-one in league 2.
Never mind Yeovil, bring on Luton I say!

Totally agree..! And in the cold light of day I'm afraid my analysis is as brief as your original retort...

WOW !....WHAT A GAME OF FOOTBALL THAT WAS !

Harvey Rodgers sent off last night and Matty conceded 3 !!!.
Superb result and just shows how Acci deal with knock backs, they become stronger.
PNE were the best pre-season team I've watched,so the result is even more satisfying,
It really could be Accis year :)

Bit harsh that F19 can't blame Matty for the goals - plus they scored 4.
Harvey copped for a second yellow late into extra time and they were already losing.
If we can get Jordan in the right area he'll score goals. Very impressed with Kayden need to keep him fit.

Re: PNE Thread

Cashy - I wasn't there because I'm a bit of a traditionalist and get excited by the league, the FA cup and not much else. l'm more likely to go away to an inconvenient midweek league match against a crap team than Man U at home in a League Cup match.

That's an exaggeration of course - and after my foolishness of not going last night I suspect I will be re-evaluating my priorities in future!

We're the only League Two team to have beaten a Championship side but Barnet, Carlisle, Cheltenham and Newport are all still in after beating League One sides and Grimsby are yet to play. So, yes, probably the best win of the round.

mid week game cashy. plenty that won,t or actually can,t attend them to matter what the opposition. imagine though if we did draw stretford dung in round 3 at home there will be plenty sick notes around the area that day.
