FA Cup 1st Round Draw

BBC2, 7pm on Monday, 16th October.

Lots of former adversaries have made it through the 4th Qualifying Round. Results are here: The website for the English football association, the Emirates FA Cup and the England football team - Competitions | The FA

We could end up at Edgar Street or at Telford! Or D3N might get a chance to see if there really are Moors in Solihull!

If they dispose of Barrow, quite like the sound of Shaw Lane Association.
Whoever they are????

Shaw Lane AFC, third in the Northern Premier behind Altrincham and Warrington, all on 33 points but Shaw Lane have a game in hand. Play just north of Barnsley.

It crossed my mind that suggesting that a visit by yours truly to Maidenhead might be a rare and wonderful adventure !..
But guessing that some keen-eyed commentator on our Forum might spot and deride some unintended Shakespearean allusion, I thought better of it !.
So, it's home to Morecambe for me, relying on form and history to secure a passage into the next round !.

Been there several times, not sure what it is like now as it has been a while.

There are two Ilkley trains an hour from Bradford Forster square, although that isn't being given as a route for some reason (via leeds or Tod on national rail site for £19.30).

I recommend doing the above route £14.70 to Bradford Interchange then £3.50 from Forster Square to Guiseley saves £1.10 and more time for drink.

12.03pm Acc gets in just in time to walk across for 1.16 BFS, then 15 mins. Or go to the City Vaults on the way for a Saltaire Blonde for £2.75 and get any train at 16 or 46 past.

The Station is right next to the ground.The train back 35 from Guiseley and 26 ish from BI.

not a big one for trains but anyone going from accy to the game i would advise going by train. traffic can be bad no matter which way you go and parking is not too good if you don,t fancy a walk. typical non league ground two open ends and seating is at a premium. would hate to be there if they shoehorned 4000 in. nearer to three would be more like it. could be all ticket as they made the hartlepool league game one earlier in the season. will be funny watching stanley play somewhere where i run the line a few times last season for their youth team.

Re: FA Cup 1st Round Draw

Nobody in the 1st Round of the Cup can CONFIRM the date!!

Unless notified by the FA ( and nobody has been notified yet) the default date for the tie is 3pm on Saturday 4th of November. Last year games were played Friday, Saturday (various ko times), Sunday and Monday.

To me the stand out ties are;

Hyde v MK Dons, Shaw Lane v Mansfield and then a lot of ones that might get the nod!!

The official announcement last year was on the Friday after the draw.

Mr T 18-10-2017 17:23

Re: FA Cup 1st Round Draw

As I thought and now confirmed by the FA;

Hopefully live matches confirmed tomorrow PM

All the other games selected for additional coverage, Welsh broadcast, Overseas broadcast, Single Camera coverage and live commentary will be by Friday PM.

Please don't anybody make any plans until the date is agreed.

When we played Woking away at the height of the Christmas Party season we could firm up a training venue or a hotel until the FA announced things. It was late on the Friday for both 1st and 2nd rounds when we got the information through.

Thanks, Mark. I see that it is to be played on Sunday, 5 November. I hope the players will not need a rocket from Coley.

It is £15 top adult price, might be some Euro conversion looking at the £s and pence.

Any way the move to Sunday means I can't go, so I am fierce disappointed. Hope to go to Round 2. The FA Challenge Cup is the highlight of the year.

So we only pay £15 unless Stanley want to start adding fees it seems. The fee is just for their website sales to pay for using Eventbrite.

I have been known to write the odd squib now and again Dave... which were probably seen as wet, which I suppose would make them ' damp squibs ! '.

Thanks for your irony which has been noted and stored in one of my remaining memory-banks. RTF.

interesting what others think about having a sunday afternoon game. i actually prefer it as i can referee my sunday league game and then onto the match and by the end get home take the dog out and another bloody sunday is over. i know others do other things on a sunday but in the summer months i find it a day where people seem to be going nowhere slowly.
