Well they have tried many things mate, perhaps if they tried treating existing fans a bit better, maybe that would help a bit?:rolleyes:we have lost a good few regulars through this, as you know, and it sure cant encourage their mates to drag people al;ong imho.

We must consider two aspects to this debate.
On the one hand, 1008 home supporters for Tuesday nights game against Wycombe, bearing in mind our league position, is truly pitiful.
On the other hand, Tuesday night was particularly foul; there was live European football on TV & we'd just been ignominiously knocked out of the FA Cup by non-league opposition.
We all know Stanley have a loyal core support of around 1000, with another 200-250 'hangers-on' who come along if & when they feel like it.
Considering the factors above, we shouldn't be too surprised by Tuesdays gate.
The sad reality is that the vast majority of the population don't give football a second thought, especially when they can watch it for free on their telly.
Expecting the 'uncommitted' of Accrington to turn out on a cold winter night to watch Wycombe is, to put it mildly, unrealistic.
If & only if, we remain in an automatic promotion spot come the end of the season, should we expect the apathetic football fans of Accrington to swap their armchairs for a seat in the stand.
