Sorry ozzy but the teams target over the next 9 games has to be 27points

Re: The final run in.

17 points out of a possible 27 sounds really doable, the only team able to catch us then would be Luton and they would need 22 points out of a possible 24.
Coventry have a tough task to finish third MH, I reckon they will have to get to 85 points and that still may not be not be enough.

Couldn't agree more, Stanley are in the best position for promotion and it would take a disaster to not be in league one next year but those who are able still have to cheer them on right through to the glorious end. The guesstimates are just for fun for those who like to work figures. ON STANLEY ON LADS.

How ironic that, should Stanley achieve promotion this year, it's looking unlikely that near neighbours Blackburn, Wigan, Bury & Rochdale will be there to meet us. :(
Still, the mere thought of Sunderland, Birmingham or possibly Barnsley, visiting the Wham next year together with Bradford City & Blackpool?
Perhaps we can afford to demolish the old cowshed after our last home game against Lincoln City?
Come to think of it, if we beat em, maybe those imps will do the job for nowt!

Twenty Eight - I believe I’ve said all along that 82 points will do it....or certainly less than your pessimistic total. I stand by that prediction. (Well, I bloody should do after Wycombe, Notts and Mansfield results this weekend!)

As I’ve said before, the teams below us just cannot string a run together and if any of them average 2pts per game they will have done very well indeed.

Hats off to you picking up on Cov though. I’ve not noticed them turning things around.

Has as already been said - win the next three and the Reds cannot be denied a promotion place. Exeter are the club below a promotion place who can accrue the most points (87) as the third match is against them we would be on 86 while reducing their maximum total to 84. Just the little task of beating Notts County and Colchester as well first.

They were fairly made at the time of writing. Unfortunately I had not the clairvoyance to see the Evans defection coming. Mansfield are a strong side and gave us a game yesterday with 10 men.

The spirit the lads have shown has been amazing and a joy to watch. Good to see Seamus get his deserved moment in the spotlight. 3 more games and we could be there.

Don’t despair Twenty Eight. Social media is just a place where we alternate between showing how clever we are and attempt to cover up how stupid we are.

I’ve got a Facebook post from back in August /September when I implored everyone I knew to sell their house and put the money on Stanley getting promotion. That will be wheeled out shortly to show how god damn smart I am.

I just hope no-one remembers a similar (but totally wrong) message of confidence from last year!

Anyway, looks like 80-81 points is now looking good enough.

Nowt! I've just Googled what teams get and the best I can find is this from a Plymouth site last year. Maybe the figures have gone up a bit since then.

Argyle have a great chance of winning the League Two title next week but how much prize money would they receive?

The answer is: none!
There is no extra prize money for winning a championship because all League Two teams receive the same payments from the EFL regardless of finishing position.

Last month I asked those in charge at the EFL how much prize money would a title winning team receive and they confirmed there is no extra prize money for finishing top of League Two and no ladder system operates across all three divisions of the EFL.
So Argyle, should they win the title, will receive the same financial payments as relegated Leyton Orient.

Each League Two club will receive £472,000 as a 'basic award' plus a £430,000 'solidarity payment' from the Premier League.

Basic award across the EFL:
Championship - £2.084m.
League 1 - £677,000.
League 2 - £472,000.

Premier League Solidarity payment across the EFL:
Championship - £4.3m
League 1 - £645,000.
League 2 - £430,000.

A trophy will just have to do!

It's still raining steadily down here in Clayton le Moors and I have been monitoring postponements on the BBC Red button......
Several matches off in the North West now at; Bradford City and also, Halifax, Tranmere, Barrow, Stockport, Southport and a few others too. Stanley Website and Twitter saying NO pitch inspection needed but I am sure the Referees will be looking at it at 12.30pm. So watch the website......(usually slow to give notice!) and Twitter, Facebook etc and also the BBC Red Button and the BBC Sport/Football Website. Man City? Who are they?

Obviously not the ultimate goal, but just to mention we are 1 win away from a guaranteed playoff place. :D Another milestone to knock off the list of great achievements this season.

When McDonalds was a Premier League sponsor (not the main one) every Premier League player got a card to allow them as much free stuff from McDonalds as they wanted.

The cards were issues through the clubs, so a lot never saw it through to the players for obvious reasons. While sponsorship bonuses and perks for tax reasons could be seen differently the fault is really with Holt for broadcasting this as it looks like a win bonus, if he said nothing then it would not be followed up.

Which is why, honest guy that he is, in his twitter quote, he said:

'You have to wonder what these folk would do with their life, if it were not for my errors of judgement'

Some people need to get a life!! ChewB included!!
