Pessimists Prosper as Positive Predictions Perish
If  you got points yesterday, it was most likely one, coming from Zanza's first half equaliser :). Six of you got one that way, five from 1-1 predictions, the only optimist with a point being Outback Ozzy with his 1-0. Which leaves me with very little to talk about :(, other than the three pessimists who were crying all the way to the points bank  after the final whistle. No-one was pessimistic enough to pick up a maxi ;), but Lord Stiffupperlip and LongLostSon managed 4 points while Monkey Hanger picked up 3. Which took my noble lord up from second back to the top of the pile, 3 points clear of Cashman, boosted MH's mid table placing from 19th to 14th, and lifted LongLost from 26th, down amongst the occasionals, to a more respectable 22nd. There were a few place swaps elsewhere, but the Top Ten remained the Top Ten, the only swap there, apart from at the very top, being Kiwi John sneaking past Mab into 7th. And I noticed a few of you don't seem to do Tuesdays - not that it usually matters much if we lose . It does seem that if I screw up your points score for one game :o, you do well in the next one, so best you all check I haven't done you down with one of my little slip-ups this time :D. So, roll on Pompey, to end a tough October sequence of matches. Bounce-back required here, please, or it'll cost me a quid  in the charity box at my Pompey-fanatical butchers next week. On Stanley On!! |
