I think coley will keep the same team for Saturday apart from bringing Smyth in for Brown - can't see any other changes being made

No place for connelley for me

Must win game

My line up would be;

Maxted and Etimov
Johnson Sykes Hughes Rogers Everton-Richards Donacien
Coneely
Sousa Clarke Brown Barlaser McConville
Finley
Armstrong Kee Smythe

Subs...Whoever is left!:D

The ultimate 6-1-5-1-3 formation just might give us a chance!

He wasnt even on the bench last match? i wondered if injured, but no-one replied.

funny as if he isn,t injured he,s gone from coley bigging him up to being right down the pecking order after being sent off at bradford. he,s hardly had a kick in the league since.

Spoke to his brother, had a slight knock and strain so didn't want to risk involvment. Travelled down and was knocking the ball about before game but seemed to pull up a little while after.

After signing two new forwards in Jan it is not surprising Zanzalas playing time has been limited. Smyth in particular.

Would play Zanzala over Armstrong purely as he is our player.

I agree, but I suppose it depends on the terms of Armstrong's loan deal

I would be really surprised if Coley has had agreed a deal that states that he has to play in x amount of games.

No chance in my view.

Nothing in the "deal" to guarantee game time; BUT we have had "deals" previously with conditions attached.

Think he has already served his ban for 5 yellow cards - think he has only had a couple since then so probably 7/8 overall.

Not banned again until 10 yellow cards.

I, however, could also be wrong.

Good spot.

Will be a miss. Smyth realistically the only obvious replacement. Can't see Coley playing Erico or Danny Williams.

Watched the Lancashire Cup game vs Blackburn U23's last month.

Erico was played as wing back.

Wasn't physical enough defensively, and he didn't look comfortable venturing past the half way line....

His major downfall is his positional play.
If he's 1 on 1 with a defender on the edge of the box, you'd fancy him to beat his man and stick it in the goal.
Apart from that, I've not really seen him contribute much else.

Happy for him to completely prove me wrong over next few games...
Just can't see him getting the opportunity.

Good decision I think to only sign on loan when Newcastle were happy for it be permanent..

Have to 'bulk' out the squad I guess. Need cover for injuries/suspensions - no point signing players who will sulk at not getting game time.
Only 2 I can really think of who haven't had any opportunity - Erico & Danny Williams

plus andy mangan before he left. i know he did some coaching but its 3 wages paid for what. might have been better used to pay 1 player a good wage who might actually feature in the first team.

Would mean taking someone out of the first team who would be on a 'good wage'
We have been extremely lucky in terms of injuries - I can't think of many serious injuries over last few years that have ruled key players out.

Think of our recruitment as well from Coley's perspective - he wants players who are happy to be here regardless. I believe we kept Danny Williams on this season purely to add experience to the players who aren't featuring/on the bench to add his perspective on their up coming careers.
Interesting piece on the BBC site about Rob Green and 'life as a 3rd choice keeper'
Charlie Rowan didn't play once for us last season when he joined us on loan, but said he 'absolutely loved every single minute' of being a part of the team.

When was the last time Accrington fielded a starting 11 with less than two loanees on the team sheet ?
Its not a sarcastic comment by the way but cant think of a time when I've been watching when that happened.

Thats a shame, from the small cameos ive seen he had the x factor, and seemed to have reasonable technique and touch. Perhaps another Mekhi McLeod? One never knows though, every player seems to have that great month that they dine out on for years!

Sykes is back from injury so if picked Harvey could move to the right with Callum in front of him on that flank I would go with Dimitar in goal and put Smyth back alongside Billy as for midfield not sure what the best option is and I,m not sure Coley knows either.

coley might know who he would like in the side but this season so many have had erratic form you do not really know what you are going to get from one match to another.

Don't think Armstrong is either.

Billy & Smyth best duo.
Zanzala gives us something a little different off the bench.
Armstrong too similar to Connor Hall in my opinion.

McLeod was never going to make it playing League football unfortunately.
Showed little glimpses here and there but nothing consistent. Not physical enough for League 1 or 2 either.
