Sad news ,

It was with a sad heart that I received the news from Marilyn that my friend, and a great
Player for our Club......Alan Davies, passed away on Friday evening.

I will not only remember Alan not only as one of the team which led Stanley back into proper football ( I might be wrong but I think he scored the winning goal against
Formby on the very first match when they returned to the game !).
But also, I'll remember him as a friend who was a perfect gentleman of quiet demeanour and who was a real pleasure to know !.

Perhaps some other thoughts and memories will be posted here as a fitting tribute to one who served the Reds for a long time and so very, very well.

Yes our "Fergie" played in the game v Formby, the older guys will need to remind us who scored those 2 goals.

ASFC invited him to the Stevenage game.

Sad yet another Revolution Player has passed away :(

So sad to hear of the loss of another member of the early ‘Come Back’ team.
Thoughts are with his family and close friends.
It is only now when we see our ‘Come Back’ team playing in League One and about to play the new season in a ground fully worthy of League One status that we can actually realise the importance of what players like Alan did in those early days.......
....Playing at The Crown ground in front of a couple of wooden sheds and a handful of spectators.
Rest well Alan, proud in the part that you played in the recovery of our Accrington Stanley.
