Blackpool Match Thread.

should be a cracking game tomorrow i think, pool are a decent side, hope we can cut out the dodgy balls out from our keeper or one time may cost us dear.

Looking forward to this derby, gonna be tough though, however Blackpool’s form has dipped a little, however Gnanduillet is always a threat up front for them. Really feel that Bursik should get a chance in goal. As Evtimov imo has not been good enough at times. Same with Hughes, as he struggles more against the better teams of this league. Hope Bishop can be fit for Saturday. UP THE STANLEY!

If we had any forwards who could take chances we would and should have put that game to bed quietly confident we should start climbing mafe a promotion candidate look quite ordinary today ps.,Young Sykes was immense at the back today long may it continue.

Agreed with cashman, a draw a fair result. Heartbreaking how they we got there. I thought we defended fairly comfortably second half apart from a couple of lapses. Agree Sykes had a good game. Dion is starting to look a good acquisition. Was happy with team performance overall Excellent atmosphere created by both sets of fans (a few mindless seasiders tried to spoil it). Thought there lad was lucky to stay on the pitch near the end with the hands in our players face. It feels like we are playing quite well now (we usually do in September) worryingly we aren't grinding out the wins to back it up.

I thought Opoku and Evtimov might have been candidates for MOTM today.... underwhelmed by Simpson and Pritchard. Pritchard seems to boot all his crosses miles too far.
Overall a scrappy game. Finlay and Clark failed to make their usual immense contributions.
Can’t argue that a draw was the fair result. Amazing atmosphere.

cashman 21-09-2019 18:02

I thought any of those 2 for MoM today, also. doubt if simpson is near ready for div1 yet. Think Opoku is a real catch and aint even playing in his best postion, but doing a fine job yon.

...Happy enough with the point..but dam glad I stayed in bed for this game because boy it would've been a super grumpy Sunday if I was up to see us concede at the death. At least getting result 3 hours later takes a little of the emotion away. Now off to golf where all my playing partners will talk about is rugby.

Twenty Eight 21-09-2019 20:14

Re: Blackpool Match Thread.

Small margins. McConville buries one of his two gilt edged chances and we win.
Dion’s header a few inches lower ..... Sykes heads straight at keeper from 3 yards ...... and we win.

Hopefully Bishop back sooner rather than later.

Simpson didn't look match fit but showed a few good touches hopefully when all strikers are fit they wiil push one another,Pritchard is a talent still finding his feet not enough minutes for me but we have a huge squad and only 11 can play,

So, Dimi had beer bottles thrown at him again by the thugs disguising themselves as Blackpool fans??
How much more are they going to be allowed to get away with before action is taken??
I for one don't buy the sob story of the Oysten era to excuse this behaviour but it seems the allocated referees do!

Should be fined and the perpetrators rooted out and banned for a long while I was in the main stand towards Clayton end and was affected by the fumes from the smoke bombs anyone who think these things are fun needs their brains replaced.

I thought was bound to be a red card, at the end of the match, I was actually allowed to question the 4th official as to why it was not a red card, he said it was a push in the chest

Going back to the smoke bomb I watched the Blackpool vlog on YouTube this morning actually films the lad lighting it and then aims and throws it deliberately at Dimi only just missing him could have been serious if it had hit him gladly it didn't, come on Blackpool fans you must watch it name and shame him get a ban for life he deserves it.

I suspect Andy Holt will ban beer being sold for the away fans when they next return, which unfortunately will hit Stanley in the pocket, but is the only sure way of any repeat occurences. As for the lad on You Tube or whatever lighting the flare, maybe the Blackpool board should identify him and as others have said, give him a long ban. But it does beg the question re security outside our ground. As for the game, due to a family wedding, I was unable to attend, but the highlights seemed to say Stanley were the better team although the stats say otherwise. Good point IMHO

There is always the option of reducing allocation and no pay on the day I might be wrong but suspect the '' hooligan '' element paid on the gate and probably drinking all day probably same mob they had problems with on a damaged train back to Blackpool as posted on their own forum.

I watched the Lee Charles vlog which covers the pre - match guzzling of Alcohol by so called Blackpool fans in the Marquee, which in turn explains the almost animal-like behaviour behind the Coppice-end goal.
Also much credit must go to Dimitar for his handling of the extreme provocation he had to bear from the ' whatever they all themselves ' massed behind him.. Mr Cool in my book from now on !.

As to the inexplicable laissez-faire attitude of the Referee towards the bottle and flare throwing and the head- butt ?. Another official who it appears has much to learn before he is allowed to control (?) another League match ?.

BUT, the Stanley spirit provided the Reds with a good point against another of the EFL's so called ' high -flyers ', and now in my opinion ' the only way is UP !'.

ON STANLEY !..ON TO EVEN GREATER THINGS !!.

Could somebody please send me the link for the v-log (or whatever) than I can pass it to the police.

I have already got good still photo's of the last incident.

We gave Blackpool fans a 2nd chance with the bottles, a risk we can't take again IMHO. Will hit us in the pocket with less secondary spend.

Over 300 BFC fans paid on the day, which I suspect will cover the ASFC police bill for the match

What made me cringe the linesman flagged for a Stanley corner near the end, and the ref totally overuled him, when the liner had perfect vision and clearly saw like us the keeper tipped it out,:(:(:(:(:(:( why are things like this allowed?

Good interview with Seamus Conneely on the Fishy site but another total waste of time interviewing the manager in an area that is noisier than a weaving shed at full tilt. This isn’t the first time either. Don’t these so-called interviewers never listen to their efforts and realise what a waste of time it is if no-one can hear it? Is there not a quiet room or area of the pitch that they could use?

Lord Didsbury 22-09-2019 13:40

Re: Blackpool Match Thread.

Think if you have a look at the Blackpool forum you’ll find most of the fans are keen for the culprits to be identified, since it will be the fans collectively that suffer.
There’s always a few idiots wherever you go and only so much that officials and other fans can do.
If you go to an Italian match security can be very tight and you have to show your passport as well as your ticket about three times before you get in. But still loads of flares get in.
So, a bit of self policing from the good fans is probably a good idea as stewarding can’t be 100%.
(But if you take photos of fans lighting flares in Italy you can get warned off if any ultras see you with your camera. So that might happen as a counter move to self policing).

Exile - yup, agreed. Surely can’t be that difficult to get sound levels right?

Ref - seemed ok to me. Thought our first booking was a bit harsh and yes, we should have had a corner, but over 90 mins no real complaints. Did he give a drop ball when someone hit hit with the ball? If so, Is that a new rule?

Lord Didsbury 22-09-2019 13:46

Re: Blackpool Match Thread.

Also, the new rule re passing it to a player inside the box from a goal kick. Seems sensible to me, but anyone know why there was a rule previously that said you had to pass it outside the box?

Just listened to Seamus' interview and I could hear every word even though there were one or two loud thuds in the background. He was very eloquent and honest in his summing up of the match too.:mosher:
Tried to listen to Coley's interview but once again I gave up after 30 seconds!
I put my own quality headphones on and tried again but gave up after 30 seconds again! It could be that Coley wearing headphones is part of the problem as they probably subdue some of the peripheral noise around him and hence he talks more quietly.:jimbo:
I agree with others comments on here that these interviews are a waste of time and have been for a long time!:singer:
Our club has become so much more professional over the last three years but this is one area where we are worse than amateur!
It really is time to do something about it!:enough:

Mr T 22-09-2019 17:10

Re: Blackpool Match Thread.

I'll have a look; but guess is; Coley is doing interview at ISDN point ( only way to get live info to the world) but the band is playing full pelt in the background?

ISDN points are in the press box, very near to the clubhouse and marquee

Could use the new media area near Coley's office but it wouldn't be "live"

Twenty Eight 22-09-2019 17:44

Re: Blackpool Match Thread.

Nothing to do with any band.
Click on it and “listen” but bet you can’t !
Seamus interview clear as a bell and done at 5.45 with no one around.
If it’s an ISDN issue then we really need to move it because it makes us look like a set of amateurs.

they do work as a team but its up to the ref how he wants the vteam to work. some want the linesman to be totally involved, others basically want you to do offsides and ball in or out of play whilst others want you to be somewhere inbetwean. about time that the duties of linesmen are written in stone and not the will of the referee on the day. in the past there were two referees i refused to work with due to their arrogant, its all about me, attitude.
