Donny Match Thread
:) Donny away this Saturday and the Match Officials are confirmed Man in the middle David Rock will be the man in charge At the Keepmoat Stadium.
This is Rock’s first season in the EFL after learning his trade in the National League, where he took charge of 26 games last season. He has overseen 14 matches in the current campaign handing out 39 yellow cards and three reds. Two of these reds were awarded in a Leasing.com Trophy match between MK Dons and Wycombe Wanderers when Giles Phillips and Kieran Agard clashed in the 88th minute. Rock has only taken charge on one Sky Bet League One match which happened to be a Rovers home match. He was the official when Rovers defeated Bristol Rovers 2-0 in October. Rock will be assisted by Conor Brown and Carl Fitch-Jackson. The fourth official is Richard Bartlett. |
Re: Donny Match Thread
Hello everyone
First, can I introduce myself I am the Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) at Doncaster Rovers. I am here just to post a quick message and some information regarding your visit to the Keepmoat Stadium. Below you will find our first-time fan / away fan video guide to the Keepmoat Stadium. In this video, you will find information on where to purchase tickets, information on where you can grab a bite to eat and a drink before and after the game and much more. If you can spare a few minutes it is well worth a watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mchi80cteI Alternatively, below is a link to the PDF version. https://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/...ters_guide.pdf In the away end you will find the ‘Family Section’. Here you will find members of our Foundation staff holding themed skill tests where prizes can be won, a face painter will be available as well as a games console for the young fans to show off their FIFA skills. If young fans arrive before 14:15, there is a chance they could be selected to take part in a moment of magic; this is where the young fan and their guardian will have the opportunity to watch the Accrington players warm-up from the away dugout. If you are wanting to bring any flags or banners with you, below is a link to our flag guidance: https://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/...-the-stadium-/ If you have any questions then please leave a comment, my email address is [email protected] or you can tweet me at @drfc_away. Thank you for your time and I hope that you all have a safe journey. Kind Regards Dean Medcalf Supporter Liaison Officer Doncaster Rovers FC |
Re: Donny Match Thread
Is that a late change to the ref. Both the lists I can access have Andy Haines as the ref with David Rock at Exeter and then reffing Donny at Peterborough on Boxing Day?

All over an away point is always ok.:)

Re: Donny Match Thread
Well done lads. Would have taken a draw before the kick off as a good result.
Professor Coleman’s late substitution pays off? Great for Ozzie. |
Re: Donny Match Thread
Good away point in my opinion :)
Pleased for Ozzy, another assist for Macca :) Good to see X2 subs making an impact ;) :) :) :) |
Re: Donny Match Thread
Draw fair result. Chances where at a premium for both sides. Doncaster had a good spell late first half and early second half. Excellent save late on to deny a Seamus Coneelly winner. Bursik is looking a good solid keeper. Opuku slightly off his game today.

Re: Donny Match Thread
Today's goal was a first for this season.
The first goal to be scored by a Stanley player not wearing red. |
Re: Donny Match Thread
It was also a first because Conneely scored it !!!
Can’t believe Zanzala claiming it. All good banter afterwards about it. |
Re: Donny Match Thread
Conneely was a man possessed yesterday, playing 1-2’s with Clicker and Colby and running on to through balls, looked like he was having the time of his life playing higher up the pitch.
Loved seeing it, trust the keeper to pull off an absolute world class save to keep out his strike to win it too! Overall, a scrappy goal from a scrappy game but it’s the sign of a good team to get something from nothing, couldn’t see us scoring before the goal. Bursik played well again and as much as a fan of Dimi I am, you can’t really complain at Bursik playing. Johnson was average, Hughes and Sykes had a good game, Opoku played poor in comparison to recent weeks. Offered little going forward and struggled to track back; can’t be too critical of the lad keeping in mind this is his first taste of men’s football and how well he has slotted in to the team. Clicked is the most frustrating player ever. Agreed he has the touch and class but as I’ve said many a time, end product let’s him down slightly. Conneely was poor first half but second half he dominated the midfield, Finley started well but seemed to tire and was sloppy late on. Pritchard and to be fair McConville both were an option but neither made a solid impact; however it’s clear to see SM is vital to a Stanley battle and JP seems to be getting better each game. Dion ran himself into the ground but sometimes naivety got the better of him, same with Colby who never really got into the game. All in all a good away point to start the festive period with. If we can get a point playing like that and demolish Bolton 7-1 and Pompey 4-1 when we are unplayable, hopefully the middle ground will see us pick up a few 1-0’s and 2-1’s to help us up that table. KTF as always, Merry Christmas one and all x |
Re: Donny Match Thread

Re: Donny Match Thread
There’s a very simple solution to the issue of inept or inexperienced refs in Leagues 1 & 2.
Now that the Premier League has VAR, just swop the refs around. Put all the best refs on L1 & 2 matches and let VAR rectify the mistakes the second string refs make.;) |

Finley spent too much time “head hunting” second half just looking to kick lumps off his opponent. He was lucky not to get at least a yellow. Ross was walking a tightrope as well. |
