Burton
Do we think Coley will make changes for this game?
How about: Bursik Harvey Ross Hughes Alese/Opoku Johnson Conneely Finley Clarke Pritchard Zanzala |
Re: Burton
Pritchard better out wide than in number 10 role.
Replace Zanzala with Charles 100% |
Re: Burton
Given availability of Rodgers, Maguire, Alese, and Opoku as potential full backs, the suggestion of playing Johnson in a more attacking role might be worth a punt. Having Johnson slightly further up the field might better utilise both his attacking and defensive skills.
But then, maybe Opoku could also provide more threat in a midfield role? |

We seem to be replete with full backs. |
Re: Burton
still think of johnson as a midfielder playing full back.
|
Re: Burton
The thought of Bambi being our only forward on the pitch fills me full of dread.

And all of a sudden Ben Barclay doesn't even get a mention.
|
Re: Burton
Well on a positive note, we are in with half a chance, as KJ has not started the thread... :D

Re: Burton
Stanley will be wearing our white 3rd choice kit tomorrow.
With us changing kits for the start of next season, will it be a final opportunity to see the boys in the white shirts with red trims, a kit I must admit to be fond of. |

Re: Burton
Set up to pinch a point but happy to see Barclay in there. Diallo is one hell of a player on his day. Watched him for many years now particularly at Rotherham when he was a spring chicken but we haven't seen the best of him in an Accy shirt .......... time to shine son.

Re: Burton
good to see opoku back. hope hes actually fit.

So far one shot on target each team, and it’s 1-1!
|
Re: Burton
Their goal was against the run of play according to sky sports news, still a sickener- come on lads!!
|
Re: Burton
Pooh! Equalizer 30 mins. Coley should have brought on those subs!

Re: Burton
A DAMN GOOD POINT AWAY. imho.
|
Re: Burton
A point-happy with that. Onya STANLEY.
|
Re: Burton
Great result, I'll happily take that - well played lads
|
Re: Burton
Well done, Stanley, and to the management for mixing things up a bit.
|
Re: Burton
Captains performance from Conneely. Won so much in the middle of the park. How Quinn stayed on following that knee high assault on him I do not know.
Neither side looked like breaking the deadlock second half. Decent away point. |
Re: Burton
On Facebook........A smiling Billy Kee was at the match! Good lad Billy!
|
Re: Burton
JUST NOTICED if Burton had won today they would have got in Play Offs! never realised they were that high up.

Re: Burton
Good point against the inform side down to bare bones squad wise today but good to see some changes in starting 11, on to Tuesday another tough game hopefully some of the walking wounded available or maybe a signature inbound though I ain't holding my breath.
|
Re: Burton
Good away point, also stops the rot :)
|
Re: Burton
Great point, relieved to get a point and take that into Tuesday who will be on a high given their win today.
|
Re: Burton
Good interview on the Fishy from Professor Coleman.
Well worked and taken goal from King Charles, although his ‘second’ did look offside from the brief extract on Sky Video. Well done to the entire squad. Big challenge on Tuesday. |
Re: Burton
Much better performance from the lads today, moved the ball well and seemed to be full of energy.
Not a fan of playing with 1 striker but thought the 4-2-3-1 formation worked well with the lads on the pitch. Surprised by Barclay, thought he had a really solid game and he looks full of energy. Dion ran and ran and ran, well taken goal and always looked a threat. Diallo got into a few good positions in the number 10 role, should have done better but he hasn’t played a lot of football recently. Clicker frustrates me so much. Conneely was superb, Ross and Hughes won everything and their distribution was much better. Pritchard kept the ball moving and was smart in his defensive play, Opoku too casual at times. Callum got forward much more than in recent weeks and looked much more composed on the ball. Positive point and performance, roll on Tuesday. Couldn’t argue if same 11. |
Re: Burton
It will be the same 18 squad Tuesday barring swift recovery from injuries or incoming transfers apparently close to 2 possibles.

Has Dion ascended to the throne? Is 'King Billy' dead? Surely it's 'Prince Charles'..... for the moment. Fantastic result yesterday. We came so close to grabbing all 3 points. Some of the quick distribution from Conneely & Opoku was sublime. After our recent poor form, this was a real gutsy performance. When the going gets tough, the tough get going! |
Re: Burton
OK, maybe the Young Pretender, then? ;)
|
Re: Burton
I know Dion's 2nd 'goal' was ruled out for offside, but I thought he reacted to the goalie pushing the ball out and fired it home, surely you cannot be offside if a defending player plays the ball? otherwise a welcome point at the Brewers and good to see Billy Kee looking well from the photos I have seen. On to Tuesday night against the Posh!
|
Re: Burton
He was in an offside position when the shot came in and interfering with play. Right decision.
|
Re: Burton
i also thought it was offside.
|
Re: Burton
So did the linesman.
