the second goal was at least a yard offside, but boros first, not one of our defenders even tried to get close or shut them down, best side won as far as im concerned agree about our keeper taking free kicks its crazy, all it needs is a rebound out and it will cost us dear imho.

To be fair Seamus couldn't keep up to make challenge and Hughes nearly blocked the shot. The guy moved with skill and speed.

They must have changed the rule if this wasn’t offside.

The linesman should have his wages docked for decisions like that.

still hard to tell from the images if the ball was played backwards or the goal scorer was behind the player who passed the ball. if it had been then it was a goal and nothing to do with the position of stanley players.

I always understood the player receiving the ball had to be ‘behind’ two opponents, not just behind his colleague who passes to him.
Look at the positions of the goal scorer and Hughes relative to the 18 yard line.

Andy !..

Does this current Newspaper report not give a little more perspective to your description of the skills exhibited by Ivan Toney last night ?.

" Former Newcastle United striker Ivan Toney is the subject of major interest from a host of Premier League clubs this January.
Now a fee of £13million is being touted by Peterborough United after Toney blasted in 35 goals in 75 games since leaving Newcastle in the summer of 2018 ".

So there you are !. I had the feeling when watching him closely during last night's game
that he knew he didnt need to get out of first gear and so played accordingly.
A very talented lad ! .

However, I will hazard a guess that AFC Wimbledon 's strikers will not be in the same class and that Mark Hughes et al will breathe a little more easier at the prospect !..

As to Stanleys Strikers , and more so Stanley's toothless midfielders who never attempted to get themselves into goal scoring positions last night, one might wonder just who will find the net at some point in the future !!.🤔

Missed the game due to awful traffic on the M60/66 and had to watch it on iFollow instead.

Didn't seem like we were hugely outclassed, but the chances we did create either were not that clear cut or again, ruined by awful shooting.

Who won MOTM? Sykes and Conneely looked decent on the telly box.

Funny listening to the commentary from Peterborough.... had a joke about our ground a couple of times (not derogatory though) but weirdly kept going on about how we had a very tall team because we can't afford skillful small players.

Sykes, Opoku... they are big lads, but are we really a team of giants?

As previously opined Lord D !.. Whoever decided that Diallo was the best Stanley player on show last night was very, very, mistaken !... As someone remarked to me after the game, it might have been the case that his doting parents and assorted close family made up the selection panel !.. but there you go !. Ce'st last vie !.

So, against a team with a (alleged) £13M striker, and with the absence of several Kee () players, Stanley lost last night to a shot that may well have been saved but was deflected in off the post and an offside goal.
