Fight For Survival 2019-20

As things stand we are 13 points clear of Tranmere in 21st place.

33 points if we keep the lead at Shrewsbury.

How many points do you expect the team in 20th place to need to avoid the drop?

As low as 40 this season?

DAV007 11-02-2020 19:19

Re: Fight For Survival 2019-20

And elsewhere in league 2, Mr Wesley is masterminding the great escape.

Re: Fight For Survival 2019-20

Can Tranmere plug a 6 point gap to AFC Wimbledon?

DAV007 says no

The bottom 3 will remain the bottom 3 in May.

Stanley have survived again

Well done Coley

Let's start to prepare the squad for next year

Paul Cook & co are trying to avoid a return to the Wham stadium next season

Another decent result and now only 4 a drift of safety

DAV007 says ' it's too early to make a call if Wigan will stay in the championship or drop to league 1'

More to follow...

DAV007 11-02-2020 20:53

Re: Fight For Survival 2019-20

Who will be joining the non league next season?

DAV007 says ' if anyone can keep Stevenage up, Wesley can'

Stevenage 7 points a drift

A big 3 points tonight from the Shrimpers Vs a relegation rival

And what the hell are Mansfield doing in 21st place!

DAV007 says 'Mansfield have spent big but delivered little'

DAV007 11-02-2020 21:00

Re: Fight For Survival 2019-20

Who will end up dropping into the National league North

DAV007 says 'Chorley are already down'

Chorley paying the price for staying part time

Chesterfield still in the relegation zone

DAV007 says 'could be the best ground in the National North'

DAV007 wishes Chesterfield well, he fondly remembers a Lee Molyneux screamer at the ProAct stadium

Will Wrexham regret sending Bobby Grant out on loan? We will soon find out, they sit 2 points above the drop

Far too soon to say “Stanley have survived again” Dav!
Tranmere could go on a good run and if we went on a bad run we could still be caught!
I would suggest we take it, “One match at a time”, for the time being.....
Lincoln on Saturday is our next big challenge.
Three points being the target. Look no further into the future until that match is over.
We had a great win at Shrewsbury on Tuesday but it could be neutralized on Saturday if we were to lose to Lincoln!

Dav. Thank-you so much for explaining the meaning of”Belief”.
You must think that I do not know the meaning of the word and that I cannot use a dictionary!

In your post on 11-02-2020 you said; Quote, “Stanley have survived“.

What I was trying to point out in my response is that to use those words means that the event has already happened.
You were using the past tense!
Stanley will have SURVIVED when it has become an event based on facts that has become historical and cannot be changed or reversed.
This will become a fact only when Stanley CANNOT be caught mathematically by three clubs in our league. Another poster has pointed this out too.

For your information I do have total FAITH in our management team and our current squad of players. I also do BELIEVE that we will survive in League One by the end of this season.
At this moment though STANLEY HAVE NOT SURVIVED.....yet! That is a fact!

Your Dictionary quote actually supports what I say;
1) “Something one accepts as true or real”...... Not true, Stanley have not survived yet. Not real. ie. It has not happened yet!
2) “A firmly held opinion”........ It is an expression of what a person hopes or expects WILL happen in the future. The event could still fail to become reality.

I say again ....Please do not doubt my BELIEF or my FAITH.:idunno:

I still await an apology from you but I doubt very much that you have the humility to offer one!
The one crumb of comfort I take from this discussion is that .....
WE ARE BOTH ON THE SAME SIDE......that of
ACCRINGTON STANLEY FC

BELIEVE...KEEP THE FAITH....:theband::jimbo::jimbo:
Words that I have used in closing virtually all of my posts and replies over the years on this forum.

ON STANLEY ON

To even call this thread “the fight for survival” and include Stanley in it shows a lack of belief from Dav007.

With Coley at the helm there is never the remotest chance of relegation.

The question should be “how high up will we finish now we have an astonishing squad and the bit between our teeth”

Lord Didsbury says “we will finish in 10th place”

Some big games on Tuesday evening

Oxford United vs AFC Wimbledon
Southend United vs Gillingham

AFC need the points to further demoralise Tranmere
Southend must win if they have any hope at all to escape the drop

Big game in league 2 as well for Macclesfield to increase the gap with Stevenage

Macclesfield Town vs Plymouth Argyle

DAV007 says ‘put this weeks pension money on a Oxford & Plymouth double’

Re: Fight For Survival 2019-20

On a budget front we are "always" fighting; we're still at our customer 23rd spot in L1; paying around 50% less than an "average club".

Several clubs in L2 are paying double what we are; that's why we need top lads who Coley and the staff get something extra from.

Add it other issues and injuries this season has been very challenging

Lets keep thing "sensible" please; I really don't want to the "freedom of speech stopper" :)

Mr T

With your inside contacts, there is a rumour that Salford’s wage bill if you include the promised bonuses if they get up to league 1 is bigger than 4 teams in the championship!

I accept that rumoured wage bill is only if they gain promotion, but regardless of the promotion bonuses the Salford owners seem happy to be bankrolling a significant loss

Mr Dav

I've only seen the figures (without club names) for L1 and L2

Bonuses for promotions will not be in these figures.

I don't believe that Salford's current spend is anything near Championship level, but it's only my educated guess.

Another thread going nowhere.. or perhaps to the dogs !.

Some of the posts besides not making that much sense are tedious and boring and have little to do with League Footbaall.

Of course gents , we're entitled to lay out our opinions on the Forum... but few appear to be valid on this thread at the moment.

ON STANLEY... ON ! .
