Re: New Signing

When Cameron Burgess left Fulham for Scunthorpe 3 years ago it was for an undisclosed fee and was on a reported £3000 a week was a prospect at the time did,nt quite work out loaned out to Salford last season scored against us and obviously impressed Coley could resurrect his career with us.

And played against us twice, for Scunthorpe, in 2018/19.

solid signing and we seem to now have a lot of defensive cover.

wonder where Coley sees Harvey Rodgers this seasons. Seems the obvious choice to cover for Callum at RB but can also play centre half too.
seem to be blessed with defenders this season.

Keeper, winger, striker.

I,m guessing here but a squad of 22 might be what Coley is going to work with as you say keeper, winger X2 striker maybe this season keeping loans to a minimum.

Just wondering if he is fit could Baker-Richardson be a target for Stanley wages he was on at Swansea similar to Cameron Burgess,s at Scunthorpe just a thought.

I hope not, hardly showed any promise in his short time here last season

Pleased with this signing. Fair bit of experience, good age and a big lad at 6'4''

hope not - think attitude was a big downfall in his time here.

I think both Colby and Dion are seriously under rated by a few on here.

Only 3 strikers if you count Niall Watson who not sure has signed his contract so we need imho 2 or 1 more strikers to cover or if a experienced player pushing those 2.

I agree StanleyJosh. Colby and Dion showed real potential at times last season. If they both stay injury free I think that they could develop into a super pairing up front. Colby has the physical presence and possesses a similar goal scoring aptitude as Billy Kee. Dion has an incredible work rate and a real turn of speed and can score a goal ‘out of the blue‘. With support from the wings and midfield I really believe that they can score a lot of goals for us next season. This could result in a high league position for the Stanley and who knows one or t’other or both of them could bring in a good transfer fee as they progress their careers. Here’s hoping....
ON STANLEY ON.

Agree choirboy could be a decent pairing problem last season was the leaking off goals at the other end Coley hinting yesterday on a change in formation going 3 at the back which might lead to a different style of play, I think at times last season we were a bit predictable playing out from back to wingers and at times looking very vunerable through the middle. That midfield to me needs tightening and less pressure on the defence.

to me our midfield will be fine if one plays towards the oppositions goal.:)

totally agree. both have done far better than i ever would have thought. their problem is going into their second season where a lot say its your hardest as you as a player are better known.

Google "Conor Hazard" and there are at least 3 reports of Stanley being interested. They all seem to stem from the same journalist though.

He also came on as a 73rd minute sub for Northern Ireland against Costa Rica in 2018 and kept a clean sheet.

Hope so too Exile. Reading the article about the latest signing Tom Allan, on loan from Newcastle, he looks like an excellent signing to replace ‘Clicker’. Really looking forward to seeing how the new boys fit in to the Stanley Squad and to see what their skills and attitude are like. Looking forward even more to getting on to The Clayton End and showing them what great supporters The Stanley Faithful are! Expecting the John and Jimmy “Magic” to continue!:alright:

Tom plays up top. He cant be seen as a Clark replacement to me but as a kid he did play wide right.
I think he'll want to play down the middle.

If he’s got any sense, which I’m sure is the case, he’ll play where the Johns and Jimmy ask him to play.

He’ll play where Newcastle tell John to play him I reckon..... hes just signed a two year deal So their intentions are clear. A season playing “man’s football” then back and if he does well promotion from under 23s to first team squad.

Really! I certainly don’t believe John Coleman would accept a player who he doesn’t think will serve Stanley’s ends.
Surely it’s more likely that Newcastle confirmed where this lad can play, and JC decided he fits his plans for the team.
I may be wrong, but I give JC more credit for knowing his own mind than to do what he’s told.

just play the lad in his best position end of. he,s really here to help us and learn the mans game. if we have an injury crisis then its fine moving him if there is no one better in that position for the odd game.
