i was took to these places and i took my lad as well. both of us enjoyed it at the time. however although my lad was not academically bright at school he did have a wider knowledge than some of his classmates. think the latter if far more important than a wide knowledge of jane austen or shakespeare.

I think a large number of modern parents deem giving their kids a trip to Maccy D's or Spoons a cultural event & for education a smart phone to go "Book facing", "your a tube" or "tickety tocing". :rolleyes:
