Baxter saves Penalty
|
Re: Barrow EFL trophy away.
Excellent half of football played by both teams nice to see young Scully in the centre of midfield looking up and trying the defence splitting passes not always coming off but a change from side to side passing Mansell,s movement off his defenders looks promising as well.

splendid

Re: Barrow EFL trophy away.
Good win top the group 2nd half we were the better side limited Barrow to few chances quick mention for Baxter deserving his clean sheet we now have 2 top class keepers to pick from, all the side performed well tonight Cassidy unlucky not to score shade offside when he put the ball in the net, Barclay played well as did Rodgers good to know we have some strength in depth back to league action Saturday hopefully 3 points.

Re: Barrow EFL trophy away.
As I see it, we now have a home draw in Round 2 against one of:
Sunderland Salford City or Manchester United U21s Crewe Alexandra Tranmere Rovers or Wigan Athletic Manchester City U21s or Lincoln City Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s Harrogate Town or Leicester City U21s or Grimsby Town or Hull City |
Re: Barrow EFL trophy away.
It's gonna be bloody Tranmere again isn't it

Re: Barrow EFL trophy away.
When Stanley made the 3rd substitution bringing Conneelly on they changed to 4-4-2 with a diamond midfield this system suits Conneelly as that is what he does best just in front of back four and picking up the loose ends, I thought it made us a lot better defencifly Sykes looks more comfortable in the traditional center half position. Nice to see the management team trying options will be interesting to see team on Saturday consideration given again to fitness and minutes in legs games coming thick and fast Swindon home on Tuesday.

If we can't beat either Tranmere or Crewe (with respect to both those teams), then we don't deserve to progress........ |
Re: Barrow EFL trophy away.
It is not about that CG, we always get drawn against Tranmere, F.A.Cup, J.P.T. Etc. and as for Crewe........... They are the last team I need to be drawn against ;)
:) :) :) |
Re: Barrow EFL trophy away.
It could be Tranmere - they've just won on penalyies against Wigan

drawing these teams will be like going to the cinema and watching the same poor film over and over again. |

'The winner of each group will be drawn at home and will play a runner-up of a group from the same region, but not from the same group they competed in from Round One. To ensure these conditions are met, the Northern and Southern draws will be split into two separate draws – Draw A and Draw B.' Last year, the Northern draw was split so that the winners of groups A-D were in Draw A, together with the runners up in groups E-H and, similarly, the winners of groups E-H were in Draw B with the runners up from groups A-D. I might be wrong but, if the same thing happens again, we'll be in Draw B and our second round opponents will be one of Sunderland, Manchester United U21s, Crewe and Tranmere. |
Re: Barrow EFL trophy away.
That's what the EFL have told us
