Work to begin today on the main stand to take about 10 months great news in the current environment and shows what a well run club we are.

The plans were posted on the website a while back I think slightly altered contain two new bars , hospitality with a view of the pitch and supporters bar. New changing rooms on halfway line then if memory serves me right office, directors and family area and gym.

The stand isn't changing

What will change is the area behind the stand ( the car park areas)

There will be 2 new bars.

If you stroll down to the external area near the old main turnstiles there is some plans of what it's likely to look like

Assuming you are still arranging the hot tub, sauna and massage chair for the PA office mate?

Ha ha I can't please everyone I'm afraid - however good news when fans are back we have some new plans for the music!

It is strange doing announcements with no fans though :(

Great news. Really is a great credit to the owner and directors in getting this underway especially in these uncertain times.

Even at 75%, it's so loud that it's painful, and I can't even have a conversation with the person next to me without shouting.

Good feedback to have, last season was the first time we had it and it took time to get used too. A lot of people to keep happy with it, Holty wanting to put it to all its use, but agree it’s not good if can’t hear person next to you.

We will get it right. Can’t wait for fans to be back.

Talking of Andy, he's posted on Twitter that the new bar should be called the Tin Pot. :)

just wonder if we can have our own personal mute button fixed to our seats. music is a funny subject. if you like it you do not mind it fairly loud. if you do not then its too loud no matter what the volume is. another reason i keep away from any pubs that have music in them live or otherwise.

Don't know if anyone can help with this, but in the main bar there was a plaque to the supporters who helped build it. One of them was my dad, if they are taking it out, I would like to have it, but have no idea who to ask or even if this area is affected in the renovation. Thanks.

Great shout Sir;

Please PM me as there's a couple of plaque's which need rescuing before the work starts !!

Want to make sure I get the right one.

Also need to make sure it's ok with Top Brass as we might want them for the "New Build"

We've already got some things in storage for the Tin Pot Bar :)

Please don't get me wrong AccyMad.....I loved the old sports bar......I've had many a great night after the game in there. And even not so great nights when we've lost and been on a poor run with small crowds with just me my mate and the ladies behind the bar for company........But change happens and we know Andy Holt has got his heart in the club and wants to do the best for Stanley and not just his wallet. Let's embrace the change, celebrate it and move forward with the Owner, Manager, Team and supporters.......by all means look back with fondness and with happy memories......but move forward with ambition, new beginnings and pride...

doubt anyone will be negative about the situation. this work is improvements and not changes for the sake of it that usually make a lot including me feel nostalgic.

These changes are being done with the future of generation,s of fans to benefit from being done so they can be altered to future needs, the next one will be the big one what replaces the open away end I should imagine this will have a lot of supporters input before the final plans are drawn up all positive for both club, fans and the general area.

Most club employees; including media are still on flexi- furlough. Only essential match day stuff and mandatory EFL stuff is being put out.

We've had no income (other than EFL payments) since March 20 so very penny saved is vital.

I'll mention it when they are in tomorrow

It's another sign of being more 2021 I'm afraid. Register on Twitter and follow ASFC, the supporters group and Andy Holt the Chairman. So much on there.......it's worth it. Get someone tech savvy or young on the family to help you. Once set up it runs itself. No maintenance or action required. Once set up, just open twitter and see the latest news and Andy Holts views instantly.....

the problem with things like twitter or facebook is that people are overusing the thing and cannot leave their tippy tappy divice alone. like everything in life a little of what you fancy does no harm. being on permanent social media or eating a big mac all the time is no good for anyone.

That’s the intention of them. Keep people constantly flipping between Twitter, What’s App, tik tok! Facebook, etc, etc, ad nauseam....with their attention span reduced to the length of an 10 second advert.

I still suspect that the Tamigotchi ‘digital pet’ was invented in 1996 to train small children into constantly fiddling with a hand held device, at a time when mobiles were still the size of a cordless phone with a huge antennae.

think that its like all local papers then. stopped getting our one a couple of years ago and never buy the hartlepool mail anymore when i go back up there. pity but these publications are a thing of the past where most know before they print them what the actual news they are interested in is.

Very true MH gone are the days when your local paper was written by local journalists and printed in the town. When the Observer was published on Tuesdays and Saturdays it was always read for the local sports results and information. To me the loss of our local paper was a big factor in losing track of local football and cricket clubs also other things like the Observer Cup for snooker - is that still played for?

the reson i stopped buying them was for the reason these reports and results got really sketchy. at one time it was the only way you knew if you were selected to play many sports on a saturday especially if training was cancelled mid week. the teams were published and you had to buy a copy. now its just emails and last minute ones at that where you are expected to pick up. its all called progress but not by me.
