Main stand redevelopment
Work to begin today on the main stand to take about 10 months great news in the current environment and shows what a well run club we are.

Re: Main stand redevelopment
The stand isn't changing
What will change is the area behind the stand ( the car park areas) There will be 2 new bars. If you stroll down to the external area near the old main turnstiles there is some plans of what it's likely to look like |

Great news. Really is a great credit to the owner and directors in getting this underway especially in these uncertain times.

Re: Main stand redevelopment
Good feedback to have, last season was the first time we had it and it took time to get used too. A lot of people to keep happy with it, Holty wanting to put it to all its use, but agree it’s not good if can’t hear person next to you.
We will get it right. Can’t wait for fans to be back. |

Talking of Andy, he's posted on Twitter that the new bar should be called the Tin Pot. :) |

Re: Main stand redevelopment
Don't know if anyone can help with this, but in the main bar there was a plaque to the supporters who helped build it. One of them was my dad, if they are taking it out, I would like to have it, but have no idea who to ask or even if this area is affected in the renovation. Thanks.

Please PM me as there's a couple of plaque's which need rescuing before the work starts !! Want to make sure I get the right one. Also need to make sure it's ok with Top Brass as we might want them for the "New Build" We've already got some things in storage for the Tin Pot Bar :) |
Re: Main stand redevelopment
Does anyone know if the development plans for the main stan include new changing rooms for the players.

If I'm looking at the plans right it looks like the tunnel still comes out in the corner by the Coppice End.
|
Re: Main stand redevelopment
Dressing rooms back to the current corner to make fans bar bigger. Bars hopefully can be used 7 days a week; dressing rooms once a fortnight!!

I do wish the club would keep us up to date with this sort of stuff on fishy. I don't have any liking (or time) for Twitter. Anyone in position to drop a hint?

Most club employees; including media are still on flexi- furlough. Only essential match day stuff and mandatory EFL stuff is being put out. We've had no income (other than EFL payments) since March 20 so very penny saved is vital. I'll mention it when they are in tomorrow |

I still suspect that the Tamigotchi ‘digital pet’ was invented in 1996 to train small children into constantly fiddling with a hand held device, at a time when mobiles were still the size of a cordless phone with a huge antennae. |
Re: Main stand redevelopment
I'm entirely "tech savvy", thanks, I just detest the whole idea of Twitter. I also detest David Cameron, but do think he was right when he said "too many tweets make a ****" :D. I really don't believe the world needs to know I've just eaten a sausage bap, very nice though it was ....[/QUOTE]
Chimer, it was a suggestion and was trying to be helpful. I'm on Twitter mainly to follow Andy and the Club. I don't tweet myself.......Keep your Helmet on! :hidewall: |

Well I'm afraid to say that you can all "agree to agree" all you like......on the use of social media, but in the long term if Stanley is to survive and flourish it is the social media savvy young uns that the club needs attract as supporters fo the future........when we old uns are long gone.....

Re: Main stand redevelopment
Very true MH gone are the days when your local paper was written by local journalists and printed in the town. When the Observer was published on Tuesdays and Saturdays it was always read for the local sports results and information. To me the loss of our local paper was a big factor in losing track of local football and cricket clubs also other things like the Observer Cup for snooker - is that still played for?
|
Re: Main stand redevelopment
i am sure its still played for pifco not that i have been since the drill hall.
