10 for their keeper, do we not count the one he went up for missed the punch, ball went across goal, another chance missed.

Really? Try telling Plymouth that.
I'd gladly swap our domination & 25 shots for their 37% possession & 2 shots on target if it resulted in 3 points.

Course you would but in the real world it would work once out of ten.

Who would they be the same people who post more regularly in defeat?

One additional comment on last night. Smyth he gave me mixed thoughts. His pace and some of his play gave us an extra dimension but he had a habit of arriving in the box half a yard behind the defender when balls where flashed across the box and he was knocked of the ball easily at times compared to our usual front 2. I have no such mixed thoughts on Phillips, he is a clear asset. We have had some luck earlier in the season with narrow wins. Last night was our turn to feel aggrieved the other way mainly because we missed chances. It's football being that fully old game.

I don’t know about numbers out of ten but, after 24 hours’ reflection, that performance was one of the best I’ve seen from a Stanley team for some time..

I know where your coming from.... but really a performance without single goal scored is a draw at best, and obviously we lost the game. Plymouth on the other hand created less on the night, scored a goal (a chance gifted to them by us) and took all three points. Oh how I wish we had performed like them.

Coley expressed the same view as you in his post match interview. I suppose its the best way of taking something from the game or in Coley's case the best way of managing his message to the players and getting them to play his way and keeping them motivated.

But I am very disappointed with our performance.

Nevertheless, I will be watching the Lincoln game on Saturday and hoping that even if we don't play as well as Coley says we did on Tuesday that we score as many if not more goals than Lincoln do.......

I didn’t mention the result, I was talking about the performance.
Of course the result was disappointing but, if results are all that matter, there’s a sale of Bayern Munich shirts on at the moment!

Yes Exile you are right....no mention of the result...so apologies. And of course good performances should eventually bring success. I guess I'm just frustrated that all our good play and chances didn't lead to a single goal. Bring on the Imps!

the result has always been number 1 for me and the performance comes second. its not performances that get managers the sack but results. thought the northamtons away performance was decent the other week and could have beaten us. if they had and followed this by not losing their next game curle would still be in his job.
