Bravely taking one for the team, or shrewd tactical move? Who knows?

2-1 Stanley for me, with everything firmly crossed.

Two Runs End Together - One Good, One Bad

Ain't that the truth - and yesterday wasn't a bad day for it to happen.

Two runs did come to an end - Stanley's losing run (good :)) and Valairian's charge up our table (bad :( - for him ;)). The great majority regained their faith after Wednesday's performance, with 20 looking for the boys to get the show back on the road, 2 on the fence and 4 (including Val) on the wrong side of it fearing further gloom and despondency.

Apart from Tommy, quoted above, who moved a whole place up the table, 22nd to 21st, maxis :):):):):) went to Revived Red (27th to 26th, the Lanterne Rouge reverting to StevieR) and Rosey (29th= to 29th, but now leading the points per game table, if there was one ;), with 9 points from 3 games).

Most of the rest of the faithful 20 took 4 :):):):) points, so the significant moves were mostly downwards :mad:. Pointless Val dropped from 3rd to 5th, letting Watchdog back onto the podium. Equally pointless Monkey Hanger fell from 12th to 17th, and one-point Ange B from 15th to 18th (with Nige going the other way, 17th to 13th :D). The other one-pointers were Ossy Kid (19th to 22nd), LongLostSon (23rd to 25th) and Taypot, who hung on to the final place in the Top Ten despite losing ground on all above him. No show means no points, of course :rolleyes:, so Tom D (11th to 14th) and StanleyHouse (16th to 20th) also suffered declines.

Apart from Val's fall, the only positional change in the Top Ten saw Cashman and AccyTom18 swop 6th and 7th places. Lower down, MikeA's move from 13th to 11th, and Choirboy's from 20th to 15th, were perhaps worthy of note. And Outback Ozzy remains 7 points clear of StanleyJosh on top of the heap, with Watchdog 5 points further back.

Now, refereeing controversy :eek::

The computer was happy to accept 2 in the "Us" column and no entry in the "Them", and duly awarded 3 points. I accepted this without recourse to VAR because:
1. I was in a good mood because of the result;
2. "to Stanley" indicates a Stanley win was certainly Stevie's intention; and (most importantly)
3. Stevie hasn't a snowball in hell's chance of winning the league, currently holding the Lanterne Rouge at the back of the pack, 34 points adrift of Outback Ozzy with 55 points left to play for.

Any complaints, see the padre ;)

I also noted LongLostSon's entry was timestamped 15.00 fazackerly. Such precision and chutzpah really deserved more than a single point :). Unlucky :D.

So, roll on ...... a midweek off! Unprecedented luxury, don't know what we pay the players for!! And then the minor matter :eek: of completing a double against the Posh next Saturday. Let the good times carry on rolling ... :)

On Stanley On!!
