Re: Wimbledon match thread
They don't score many until you gift them one possibility of a foul on Savin but punching there you have to get it right.

Re: Wimbledon match thread
That's been coming our midfield has been missing since they equalised deservedly in front Wombles, can see subs at half time or shortly after.
|
Re: Wimbledon match thread
3 1 :(
|
Re: Wimbledon match thread
Well played Wombles they are in their own fight and are clearly up for it.
|
Re: Wimbledon match thread
wtf ?????
|
Re: Wimbledon match thread
Wimbledon better side since we scored. Bullying us all over the pitch. Colby and Dion lacking service and poor when they get it. We can't cope with their direct style of play. Need a fantastic team talk at half-time by Coley and maybe a sub or two. Next goal is crucial. Wimbledon will be wasting time from the second half kick off. Lets hope we can capitalise....
|
Re: Wimbledon match thread
Outplayed and out-fought for 30 minutes. No good expecting anything from this ref, roll sleeves up, get closer to their front row, and get stuck in before they get the ball.
|
Re: Wimbledon match thread
Getting a bit like Peterborough great free kick they look dangerous every time they break substitute anyone?

Re: Wimbledon match thread
Wimbledon playing like ....they are going-up!!!!!!!!
Game Over I think. Protect Seamus and take him off and give Joe some game time......Probably season over today...... |

Re: Wimbledon match thread
You have to give Wimbledon credit just as the Posh did they have completely outplayed us apart from the opening 5 minutes and this time a lot of " first choice players " available no blame at anyone's door we just haven't played at all today
|
Re: Wimbledon match thread
Dont do it Mrs Madd-the team needs stability
|
Re: Wimbledon match thread
Well done Wimbledon a day to forget.
|
Re: Wimbledon match thread
Well I think we are all in agreement........the better team won today. Having seen that performance I hope they stay up...but looking at the table .... who know's if they will.
We are safe, but would be good to get one or two results from the remaining games and finish on 60+ points. |
Re: Wimbledon match thread
Even when they went down to ten men The Reds couldn't find a goal !
So disappointed ! , not only with the result which could and should have been worse !, but also with the collective performance of our team. Again there was a general lack of skills and understanding on display which could only end in defeat . As for Wimbledon apart from realising and playing like all their Christmases and Birthdays had all turned up at the same time given all the time and space they were given, looked like a well organised team.. well they would do wouldn't they ?. One consolation ?.. that the points are on the board !. |

I'm beginning to think our lads drank the bar dry before it was knocked down - it'd certainly explain a few things . . . . . . .

Re: Wimbledon match thread
I honestly think they've given up.........on the beach" we used to call it. Very disappointing, but I think they are looking foraward to next season. Some expecting to move away and so don't want any more injuries. And without a live crowd to either get on their backs or help urge them on. Must be difficult. I can see us losing the next 2 games and then it will be a real poor end to the season.

Re: Wimbledon match thread
Cashy, Andyd.......I really hope you are both right...and by the way I'm so pleased we have a points tally that makes us safe with 7 or 8 games to go. But we weren't playing a big club on Saturday....not a Sunderland or a Peterborough or a Charlton or Portsmouth or Ipswich. We were played off the park for most of the game. I just didn't see any of Stanleys desire or fight...that's all...I just don't get it. And McConville's delivery's from Corners and free kicks are such poor quality. We have some big lads but can't get a head on a ball...I wan't the team to prove me wrong and I really hope they do.

I think most players, and management, are just running on empty after exceeding expectations for two-thirds of the season.

[QUOTE=cashman;1252611]true but if we ever got to the top doubt if our gates would be as good. ground aint big enough.
possibly thats a good reason to have missed out on the play offs this season and winning that lottery and getting promoted. the wham just isn,t big enough for championship football if the crowds are back fully. there would not be full houses every game either once the novelty quickly wore off with new age home fans. best stanley can ever hope for are decent cup runs and staying in this division with a team playing decent positive football. |

Novelty of league 1 would wear off with fans in a relegation battle quicker than one in the Championship me thinks.
