They don't score many until you gift them one possibility of a foul on Savin but punching there you have to get it right.

Wimbledon better side since we scored. Bullying us all over the pitch. Colby and Dion lacking service and poor when they get it. We can't cope with their direct style of play. Need a fantastic team talk at half-time by Coley and maybe a sub or two. Next goal is crucial. Wimbledon will be wasting time from the second half kick off. Lets hope we can capitalise....

Outplayed and out-fought for 30 minutes. No good expecting anything from this ref, roll sleeves up, get closer to their front row, and get stuck in before they get the ball.

Well I think we are all in agreement........the better team won today. Having seen that performance I hope they stay up...but looking at the table .... who know's if they will.

We are safe, but would be good to get one or two results from the remaining games and finish on 60+ points.

Even when they went down to ten men The Reds couldn't find a goal !
So disappointed ! , not only with the result which could and should have been worse !, but also with the collective performance of our team. Again there was a general lack of skills and understanding on display which could only end in defeat .
As for Wimbledon apart from realising and playing like all their Christmases and Birthdays had all turned up at the same time given
all the time and space they were given, looked like a well organised team.. well they would do wouldn't they ?.
One consolation ?.. that the points are on the board !.

Your probably right Cashy but it will be too little too late but so what it's been a good season points wise and league 1 next year with us watching hopefully because it very much hasn't been a good season for fans of any club.

and thats been the problem for a few moths now. you have no clue whoever is playing which stanley team is going to turn up one game to another. anyone with any sense would know wimbledon would have been up for this game seeing it as a possibly win against a team who are irratic at best and whose season is nearly over. stanley also have struggled even in good runs when they come up to physical outfits that get in their faces. a problem obviously other sides do not have as some of these sides are the lower ones in the league and they are not there by bad luck.

They played exactly the same system as us a diamond shape 4-1-2-1-2 but apart from Woodyard their captain good player their other 3 in midfield were 2 19 year old,s and a 23 year old loanee from Sunderland who dominated our diamond whole game.

I honestly think they've given up.........on the beach" we used to call it. Very disappointing, but I think they are looking foraward to next season. Some expecting to move away and so don't want any more injuries. And without a live crowd to either get on their backs or help urge them on. Must be difficult. I can see us losing the next 2 games and then it will be a real poor end to the season.

disagree i think we never give up its more a matter of squads the big clubs have in comparison to ours.i cant honestly expect ours to compete over 46 games,im more than delighted what we have achieved this season.

Your right Cashy about not giving up we have had a good season safe with plenty of games in hand but against Peterborough and Wimbledon we were simply outplayed and well beat it happens, we could respond tomorrow if we turn up as Blackpool are under a different pressure trying for top six, if we play like we can we can win simples.

Cashy, Andyd.......I really hope you are both right...and by the way I'm so pleased we have a points tally that makes us safe with 7 or 8 games to go. But we weren't playing a big club on Saturday....not a Sunderland or a Peterborough or a Charlton or Portsmouth or Ipswich. We were played off the park for most of the game. I just didn't see any of Stanleys desire or fight...that's all...I just don't get it. And McConville's delivery's from Corners and free kicks are such poor quality. We have some big lads but can't get a head on a ball...I wan't the team to prove me wrong and I really hope they do.

You're right, we weren't playing a 'big club - we were playing a team who are fighting for their league 1 survival & that's always dangerous. They out-fought & out- muscled us into submission & their tactics worked but from beating Oxford away last Monday, we haven't suddenly become a bad team & there's every likelihood we'll get something at Bloomfield Road tomorrow, Blackpool play good football & hopefully so will we

so many injuries and a disrupted side has not helped either. think at this time of the season its more about whats in players heads rather than their legs. players of all teams have played more or less the same amount of games now. no one mentioned stanley running on empty in late play off pushes or great escapes.

possibly thats a good reason to have missed out on the play offs this season and winning that lottery and getting promoted. the wham just isn,t big enough for championship football if the crowds are back fully. there would not be full houses every game either once the novelty quickly wore off with new age home fans. best stanley can ever hope for are decent cup runs and staying in this division with a team playing decent positive football.

Not very positive doubt Coley would ever see it like that and don't forget there is another end of the ground to finish with plenty of room their to build something that could be expanded for demand if required.

well the novelty of league football did when stanley were struggling in division 2. you expect crowds to drop some way if the team is doing bad but not to the extent they do nowadays at all clubs including stanley.it always seems for some reason i,ll never undertand is that its far easy to lose fans but much harder to recruit them.

and money to waste at that. no matter what division any club in the country are in there is a maximum number of home fans it will ever get. could the wham ever get 10,000 home fans in like morecambe and others.

I think that the old Accrington Stanley,s biggest ever seasonal average gate was about 9200 ish back some years which was quite an achievement with our population bigger than Rochdale's highest average and their population is much higher.

Same as your Rochdale's, Oldham's and Bury all surrounding by so called " bigger clubs".

rochdale is possibly the furthest away than stanley and the other 2 clubs are from another big club alternative yet their gates have always been much lower than bury,s and oldhams have been. in the early 70,s if you wanted to see a crowd in rochdale you either had to go to the shops or a hornets rugby league game at their old ground which was far superior to spotland.
