The Blackpool Match Thread

I'm not having anybody else jinx us this game - I'm going to jinx us myself! :p

And this could be the biggest mis-match, on current form, since Foinavon won me 22/6 in a sweep on the Grand National in 1967!:eek:

Or maybe not .....? :D:D:D

Avoided watching but, after Saturday, this was a good result, missed penalty or not.
Well done to the players and coaches.

Great result, would've happily taken a point before the game but disappointed we couldn't convert that penalty - what was he thinking??

That B****** penalty miss cost me 4 points, however, I will forgive The Bishop of Wham, great point against a free scoring side, total shut out. Some really strange results tonight though. Who'd ha thowt little Wigan would take 6 points off Slumberland! Doncaster also in freefall (more than us).

Think we all would like to see that Cashy but we all know they are few and far between. Two Ref no calls tonight one when Charles was blocked off in the first half running at them just outside the penalty area, then Morgan got booked for one in the middle of the park. The other was a Smyth throw in, a B P sub stood by the corner flag till Smyth started his run up then he started jogging down the line and ran right in front of him, both in my eyes were bookable offences.

What a performance last night by Stanley. From front to back they were so disciplined and worked so hard. Credit to Coley as well for setting the players up that way.

One of the highlights of our season for sure...........and if only........but anyway I'm so proud how well they stuck to their tasks.

exactly. however what will be in store for us at rochdale on saturday. which stanley will we see against a side we have recently had a bad record against. can anyone else remember a season like this one at stanley or anywhere else for that matter. in nearly 70 years of watching i for one cannot.

Would happily have taken a point before last night's game. Always gutted when it involves a missed penalty though. Still a good performance after Saturday and we move on to Rochdale.

Re: The Blackpool Match Thread

Every player on the pitch for Stanley played well complete opposite from Saturday man of the match for me was young Savin 3 great saves stopping 3 goals and keeping us in the game, we didn't create much but really should have taken all 3 points which would have kept us in touching distance of the playoffs pity really because its now a tall order with games running out.

Can elaborate if you want to, we won 3 nil with 2 goals from Lee Molyneux & 1 from Rommy Boco.
Line up : Rachubka, Liddle, Hughes, Winnard, Hunt
Boco, Murphy, Joyce, Wilson
Beastie, Molyneux

Tom Aldred replaced an injured Hughes & became an ever present

yes everyone misses em but that penalty was an absolute shocker though. it would have been harder not to save it than save it.

Loved watching him take a penalty never blasting em just used to stroke them in the corners where no keeper can save em.
