|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Well deserved 2-0 Burgess me thinks.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Good game in difficult conditions. Some good solid performances and what a cracking cross+header for the first. But really disappointed in Russell, big lad but so ineffective and indecisive.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.

Re: Portsmouth match thread.
We’re better than Pompey.... so far !.
Always said that Phillips would come good ... he’s getting nearer !...;) Jon Russell has shown a slight improvement but can he shoot ? Two great chances missed perhaps it’s a confidence thing with him ?. Sean’s return to somewhere like his best continues .. his use of the ball is scaring the Portsmouth defence every time he’ gets it . Mr Madley is going soft on their Centre Backs.. but he’s not the best is he ? Looking forward to a goal from Dion ... he deserves one !. Here endeth my Half-time report !. |
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
2-1 sodding marquis
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Get Russell off before he gives away another goal.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Terrible from Russell..... :(
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Take the ref off that was a corner they equalised.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
2-2 against a bad ref
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Should defend it better though so frustrating after a great first half.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Madley - oops
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Westwood outside with his bell once a knob you know the rest.

Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Someone chuck that bell in to cut.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
do not believe this 3-2 to southern scum
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Terrible defending again season over I,m afraid create as many chances as you want defending like we have tonight is simply not good enough certainly at this level.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Up your bell Westwood you smelly idiot.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Get Madeley off too, he’s a joke. But what a game. Well done to both sides for a fantastic, nervy, battle. Stanley robbed, yet again by a crap ref.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
3-3:):) drysdale done us again
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Great game of football, ruined by the joker in the middle, more than deserve the point!!!
:) |
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Kettle? Madley? What's the difference?

Re: Portsmouth match thread.
We really should have won that great spectacle of a game but some bad misses and some unlucky ones, bad defending and a joke of a ref for both sides has cost us 2 points and our mathematical chance of the playoffs.

This was a game we should have won easily. My fears regarding Russell were well founded.. its not a question of confidence , he's not up to League standards!. As for Mr Magoo... (well Madleys eyesight is apparently on par with Magoo's !) .. what did everyone expect from him other than another abject refereeing performance !. KTF!.. , |

will someone explain to me HOW clowns like him and Kettle are still league refs? cos i dont understand it.

Re: Portsmouth match thread.
[QUOTE=yonmon;1253324]Sad to say Joe but we gifted all three goals to Pompey ..

(well Madleys eyesight is apparently on par with Magoo's !) .. what did everyone expect from him other than another abject refereeing performance !. KTF!.. Totally agree about gifting them the goals but not about Russell being upto standard, he,s a young lad on loan hasn't really played much was asked to come in tonight for Butcher in a tense game for both sides and apart from his bad pass for the goal he showed some good touches got in some good forward positions and really should like a few others have scored, will go onto have a good career somewhere good luck to the lad. |
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Glad to see Joe Pritchard back looked dangerous every time he was on the ball such a pity he,s been out a big miss.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Sorry, Andyd, nothing against the lad and wish him well but Russell is a long way off being ready for league football. He seems slow to react, slow to think, and even slow to move.
I’d rather one of Stanley’s academy players is given a chance if you just want someone to pass the ball sideways to the nearest player, whether or not he’s marked by two opponents. Of the two, Uwakwe had more promise, I thought. |

All I tried to say , quite kindly I thought, was that in my opinion based on what we have witnessed of his play so far, is that he is not up to League standards ... perhaps I should have added YET !. Just a word here about John Coleman. Again in my opinion he has worked his wonders with a squad of Old timers, young hopefuls, and those needing to develop their craft . Whilst doing this his team have accrued more points than perhaps few of us expected a few months ago which gives us the confidence to expect even greater things in the season to come. So , at this moment I'm raising a rather large Bombay Blue and Tonic to John, Jimmy and all the backroom Staff. |

It's good to see most are now respecting each others opinion, as for my opinion, from 5,000
miles away, I would take Stanley doing this well any season and I do love reading all your reports/comments so thanks all. A final comment, due to covid, I've decided to finally hang the old boots up after 60 years of kicking the leather. |
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Seeing as we are destined for mid table, I too would love to see God give some youth players a run over the next 2 games... Also, was shocked to leave home for work at HT when we were 2 up and 20 minutes later (at work) check score on phone and 2-2 ..WTF!!!??? Next time I look its 2-3 and into stoppage...started cursing and nearly threw phone at nearest apple tree. It wasnt till lunch time that I had settled down and re checked other scores and found that we ended 3-3..cheered me up somewhat.

Re: Portsmouth match thread.
well this end of season has gone from me wanting it to end a few games ago to just wanting it to continue. the last few games are the reason we love football and everything it brings with it. wherever stanley do finish its been a bloody good season apart from not being there to watch.

Surprised about Ogle as looked ready to break through and would have been a better option than Maguire for those games he played a few weeks ago. Zehn's been unfortunate with a niggling injury as he would have certainly featured towards end of season. Sama on a 2 year deal worries me..... Barclay and Rodgers are good enough squad players and don't command hefty wages so no issues with either of those staying. |

Did anyone else have problems last night with i Follow, I had a black screen for 25 mins before the picture appeared ,missed a lot of first half.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
i did not greeny.
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Mine was OK to be fair Greeny :)
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
Ours was fine too, just a little annoying that they decided to replay 'corner or goal kick gate' (of course it should have been a corner) which meant that although Dan was telling us about Portsmouth's 2nd goal going in, we couldn't see it
|
Re: Portsmouth match thread.
i follow is crap but serves a purpose simple as. in have had similar problems but not last night.
