Re: Pre Season Friendlies
There's a post from the club on Facebook regarding tickets for the friendly game at Clitheroe although having read it, it sounds like it's home fans only?

[QUOTE=andyd;1254783]Also no drinks or food available on the the day it could be a hot day not very good especially if you have kids in tow
they all seem to be going down that line. surely it cannot be healthy on a hot day with the possibility of being in the ground 3 hours with the insistance of clubs staggering arrival times without extra liquid in you. fine for them who bring there own stuff like i do but i,ve forgot more than once doing this. |

That is already subject to challenge if it isn't removed completely on July 21st. But as food vans are now able to trade without restrictions they could just park a couple of them in the ground. But really Boris has no choice but to lift all the restrictions as now no matter how high the infection rates go without the serious illness, hospital admissions and deaths support for keeping them is really now down to just the loony fringe who.ve kept themselves locked away since day one. |
Re: Pre Season Friendlies
there were many hypochondriacs about before the virus was ever heard about. they mainly went about their lives unseen apart from in the doctors surguries. now they have become louder with another minority we have to listen to.

Does anyone know which seated areas are going to be in use today please, can't imagine the Jack Barrett will be (at least not without a hard hat) asking for my mum as she'd need to know before she decides whether she can go - thanks

Re: Pre Season Friendlies
thought we were the better side today couldnt tell Preston were an higher division, well done lads.anyone know what the gate was?
|
Re: Pre Season Friendlies
Really enjoyable day, thought Stanley more than matched their Championship opponents. First half was pretty even, without too many clear cut chances. But what I really enjoyed was the way the young lads who came on in the second half really had a go at Preston. They were eager for the ball, chased down everything and put Preston under pressure for the last fifteen or so minutes. Very impressed with Tommy Leigh - he won every header and his long throw-ins caused havoc. Also the ‘trialist’ on the left wing, who laid on the goal, was excellent.
Well done to the lot of them. |

Re: Pre Season Friendlies
Agreed, looked exciting and always wanted the ball.
Has a small amount of experience playing league football, couple of starts and some sub appearances too. Could be a shrewd signing. |

Re: Pre Season Friendlies
didn,t see any of these games but by all accounts the players seem to be playing well and winning where the latter is not that important in a friendly but a bonus. everything does seem to be encouraging for the start of the season. at this stage of some seasons we were still worried about players leaving and not having replacements till the last week before kick off.

Re: Pre Season Friendlies
Thought somebody would have mentioned Coleys' comments about Dion in the interview yesterday??

If it was Jack Nolan Walsall paid Reading an undisclosed fee for him like Josh said 2 or 3 games and a few bench appearance,s, then released this summer.

Re: Pre Season Friendlies
First Half we were shocking absolutely useless expected a few subs for second half but as usual it was 20 mins before the end some came on dont care what anyone says subs are our managers weakness, second half we were much better which did not shock me the lads were late coming out after what i assume was the hair dryer.
|
Re: Pre Season Friendlies
Must admit to expecting a lot more from Stanley when so close to the new season start. Lets hope they shape up next Saturday when it matters.

On a brighter note today's game attracted an attendance of 1097 which includes 305 city fans 🙂
|
Re: Pre Season Friendlies
Very poor first half and awful defending for both goals. Second half was better with more urgency in the play. Nobody seemed to be able to handle Angol early on.
Perhaps if Dion had buried his headed chance in the second half, things might have been different? However, Bradford deserved the win. |
Re: Pre Season Friendlies
if we have any problems pre season friendly games are the time to have them. time to sort things out before what really matters, next saturday onwards. never know why fans get either misty eyed or depressed about results in pre season games.
