David Morgan?

Just wondered what's happened to David Morgan. He never seems to appear in any of the injury updates and we could have definitely done with him in midfield last night.

Re: David Morgan?

Saw him at the Fleetwood game looks fine another odd one him and Leigh not mentioned at all in injury updates.

Morgan had a boot on a couple of weeks ago, so cannot think it will be soon - but who knows :)

we are only fans so what do you expect. seems the norm nowadays for less info from clubs rather than more.

Hello Mr Opposition Team, just to let you know that we won't playing players X, Y or Z in our next game so don't worry about thinking about how you'd manage them during the game.

Appreciate fans wanting to know every detail but there are reasons for certain info being not in the public domain. Similar to another player who seems to have gone 'missing' in recent weeks.

Morgs is out of the boot and shouldn't be too long away from regaining fitness.

Adds to the theory,s among fans that something ain't right asking about injured players and their status is acceptable what a load of tripe.

Course it's acceptable, never said it wasn't? But you might not get a full answer. And the people who would give the answer aren't on this forum.

I dont think people are looking for the medical history of an injured player, nor are they asking for an exact date when a player will make a come back from injury to the first team, but what would be good is if the paying supporter could get some minor feedback on how a player is progressing in getting back to full fitness.
Lots of professional clubs have a full page spread in their matchday programme
simply reporting on this topic.

Re: David Morgan?

The other side to it is apart from Pritchard and Butcher who Coley has mentioned about recovery times, the others haven't really been announced as 'injured' either.

I'd hope we never would fill a full page spread in the matchday programme reporting on current injuries.

Nor one on missing players.

StanleyJosh 08-12-2021 14:41

Re: David Morgan?

Think I worded that missing bit a bit obscure!

Player isn't missing as such... not featuring but not injured...

And no I don't mean Dion....

Talking of Pritchard, does anyone know what his actual injury is?
I've known broken legs heal faster.

I can't help thinking of the character played by Christopher Biggins in Porridge when Pritchard's name comes up.

Do you mean he has been "tapped-up" and his agent has a transfer away set up already?

No idea. He's under contract until 2023 I understand but every chance he's having his head turned.

The worrying thing for me (maybe you?) is for a footballer......he doesn't seem to have been keen to get back playing football. He's been out a long time, way before Matt whose now at least back in training on grass. Unless he has a bad injury? Or as you say wants away in the Window? All speculation I know.

For me......it's a win/win either way.........he comes back fit and plays, like having a new signing of a creative player...OR....he transfers to a new club for a good fee.

100% right. Same with Dion.
If you're good enough the move will come.
Sitting in the stands does no one any good.
Said with apologies in Pritchard's case if this injury has been / is serious.

anyone else who will be glad when february arrives with this feeling of outs being more important than ins.

Didn't Pritchard start an U23 game a month ago and had to leave the pitch after 40 minutes. No information released at the time, but sounded like he came back too early.

Yes, I think you’re right, Whalley Red.
Can only hope Coley is having to doing a Monty by holding back his ‘troops’ for ‘full force’ a new assault in the new year

Coley's recent interviews have at times sounded like a sales pitch for Colby.

At times” must be the biggest understatement on here. It’s virtually every post-match interview this season.
Don’t blame him, that’s his job.

I guess he's odds on to be off in Jan.

We must need the money by the way he quotes he,s the best striker in league 1 great at leading the line of one himself he,ll go if someone fancies him at the right price.

Wasn't that a different injury?

Re: David Morgan?

Coley appears really sheepish & reluctant to even discuss Pritchard whenever his name is raised during interviews.
After being out of action for so long 'risking him being re-injured' seems a strange non-comittal response.
There must be something seriously amiss if he's still not even back in training by now.
