Not accepting Pele as a striker - more of an attacking midfielder!

When I saw the team and the fact that Drysdale was in charge, I feared the worst before kick off :(

Appreciate we have injuries - is Josh Woods on that list?? - but, the team seems to lack balance at the moment.....

Colby, Di*n and Windass all on the score sheet tonight, just adds to the misery :(

One plus point, at the Cheltenham won tonight :)

On to Saturday :)

P.S. travelling on the day did not deliver........

I thought we did OK last night.Probably not much blunter than for much of the season.
Effort was there and I thought on points we merited a draw.
Pressures on a bit now and we'll be at DEFCON1 if we lose on Saturday.

Batten down the hatches its going to be a long winter.

I thought it was a better performance than at FGR, but predictably the same result.
Tommy Leigh’s undoubted skills were wasted running around on his own.
And I can’t remember Stanley getting anything from any of their many corners.

Also, predictable poor refereeing from Drysdale. Coyle got a yellow card for being fouled. Hamilton was pushed in the back and fell on the ball, and was penalised. Clark was shoulder charged down in the corner and, when he reciprocated, perfectly legally, the Wycombe player got a free kick for diving. It seems an established law amongst many refs that Stanley’s attacking players can be pushed and pulled with impunity.

i dont blame the ref ok he was poor, its the simple fact we have no real STRIKERS. we did play better second half but we have no recognised striker,we would have won last night if we had, imho,

Quite right Cashy the number of chances we could have scored at least three.We can’t keep selling our strikers and leave us with only inexperienced non league players .Going to be a long winter

The thing we do not know is, who is injured!?!

Lowe might be carrying an injury, so cannot start??

Same might apply to Woods?

Injured or not injured I feel sorry for the lad.
Brought in and expected to perform from the get go having made a major step up.
One thing I do know is anyone carrying an injury shouldn't even be a sub.
Just got to suck it up - the squad is the squad.

Our stats from last night would have flattered Man City.
An incredible 62% possession, 17 shots & no fewer than 11 corners!
Never has so much domination & set-piece opportunities proved so ineffective.
We know what we need - someone who can convert possession into goals.
Erling Haaland at Man City is a prime example of the ultimate striker.
He doesn't go on mazy runs or dribble the ball past 5 defenders, he just appears in the right place at the right time to tap the ball in, usually after his team mates have done all the work. Result - 10 goals in 6 games.
I know what you're thinking - Haaland cost 60 million euros! Beyond the realms of fantasy - quite true.
But forget the money, the principle is still the same - we must put men (plural) in the right place at the right time.
After 62% possession & 11 corners, it's obvious we're failing to do this.

i first watched stanley in 1953 dad took me, that to me was one of the worst displays i have seen from them, to start as usual with no strikers is stupid in my view.morecame were rubbish yet deserved 3pts our shooting was chronic NO power in the shots,and mainly in the center of goal which Ripley stopped easily,if some were carrying injury thats no suprise to me its always been the case. the only thing that made me laugh was the singing of super johnny colman the only thing i disagree with our owner on.

JC is always emphasising how professional our coaching staff are.
How they spend hours analysing opponents to take advantage of any weakness.
Unfortunately, our opponents are doing exactly the same & you don't need to be a football genius to conclude;
1. Our team & formation rarely changes.
2. Our game plan, set-piece corners & free kicks never vary.
3. In essence, we're so bl***y predictable.

What amazes me Cashy is how commentator,s and Coleman can say that was a good match to watch well call me old school or whatever names under the sun but in my opinion it was utter dross, no skill shambolic defending and powder puff attacking.

We are rubbish , hopefully Derek has some signings lined up to improve us.

Don't be fooled by those possession and shot stats. That's what we call "Derekball" , every team we play has 60 or 70% possession. Derek also plays a system which means the opposition make most of their goal attempts from long range and Connor is in good form !

The transfer window opens in less then 8 hours time.;)

As EFL clubs play on the 1st and 2nd of Jan anybody signed tomorrow before 12 noon won't be able to play until the 3rd of Jan to make it fair to all clubs

The January League schedule will be difficult with or without new players. I will be surprised if we get more than two points from it. But with a striker or two integral part(s) of the team by February we still have a chance. But with zero strikers that JC believes in, virtually zero chance.
You may call me a pessimist or even a defeatist, but this I do believe. But whatever I am, I am not a pacifist. Charge!
