Re: vs Forrest thread

We are very fortunate to go in equal. Passing in midfield has been terrible Quirk really has a knack for finding a blue shirt.

The sending off looked harsh from where the camera was. But couldn’t see where the foot was. Before that it was difficult to see where the goal was to come from.

Pressley works hard, Clark too, and Jensen has saved us. But I remain unimpressed by midfield play.Good cross from Sean and good header by Aaron.

Re: vs Forrest thread

Phew!
Red card saved us, no doubt about that.

Great to have Clark back. To me he, Pressley and Jensen stood out. Had we swapped goalies we would have lost. Good decision to bring on Martin for Quirk. Thought Nolan did well, too, when he came on.

I thought all the subs did well and it was good see them getting a bit more game time.

Re: vs Forrest thread

Presley to me is not fully fit, either that or not that interested - I prefer to think it's the former. Great to see Mitch back & Harvey without doubt deserved his MOTM award - not a pretty game as expected but in the second half alone we deserved those 3 points, albeit not good for the nerves

Re: vs Forrest thread

If we can play against ten men every week we can do it!
Up to the sending off we were being out played by, supposedly, the worst team in the league.
Good time and way to get the equaliser, although it was a softish header and their keeper fumbled it.
Second half, young Martin was a good introduction, as was Nolan and the second goal was well taken by Longelo. Yet again he was our best attacking player; he got no protection from the ref and inevitably had to hobble off after one too many hacking tackles.
But, 3 points was the order of the day and Stanley delivered.
Well done to the lads.

Nothing on social media about Shaun. Not at the ground yesterday......can only assume something personal to deal with. Not sure where he is with totting up of cards.....maybe back on Tuesday night to cover for Rosaire......who looked injured on Saturday?

Re: vs Forrest thread

Jensen was our Man of the Match for me because of his two top class saves on 11 minutes and 18 minutes.:alright:
We could have been 3-0 down when Forest Green scored but for his saves.
It wasn’t a good match with both sides not in good form and with such a poor referee who was just so inconsistent!:ooh:
The only thing he got right today was the Red Card which allowed us to take a hold on the game.:130:
I could not work out what position Sean Mac was supposed to be playing? Pressley did a lot of the defensive play by running back and across when our opposing wing backs were moving forward with the ball. Once again Longelo was our most attacking player but got another battering! Playing Aaron up front with young Nathan looks a good plan but it needs time to allow a partnership to develop. Time is short though! Great to see Kode Adedoyin back in play and his strength and skill was super and just what we need. Kode and Aaron could be a partnership worth starting with. The current defensive trio is risky I believe. Harvey has developed into a great centre back but both Fernandes and Sangare look somewhat shaky. They are really over exposed because a back three has much greater space between the defenders than a more compact back four. To play a back trio all three need to be very skilful under pressure and have really good positional sense. I would much rather see us play a 4-4-2 formation which can become a 2-4-4 when we are in possession and attacking. Needs very mobile wing backs and wide midfield players who both have the ‘winger’ capability to beat a player like Longelo possesses.:juggle2:
KEEP THE FAITH:theband::rose8:
ON STANLEY ON

OK, I do not follow other Clubs, so I do not know the answer, but seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

https://www.accringtonstanley.co.uk/...ent-fa-charge/

How long before we are fined for kicking the ball to hard....................

I saw highlights of a game at the weekend, where - in a matter of 40 seconds - a player threw the ball at another, then said player pushed Assistant and NOTHING was done.....................................

It's all anti Stanley Val, I'm convinced that Holty and Coley have put so many noses out of joint that the EFL are desperate for us to be relegated.......because we speak out against the EFL we are punished for things other clubs get away with all the time.

A breach of FA Rule E20 ? :idunno:

“It is alleged that the club failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 43rd minute.” :idunno:

Anyone know what our players did wrong then? :idunno:

It was around the time Nathan got fouled and their player was sent off. I suspect the players complained too much to the referee?......Anyone else know?

Yes, they were wearing red shirts.

The 43 minute was when FGR had a man sent off for dangerous play. Other than Stanley’s Captain and others surrounding the ref, no doubt demanding a red card, which happens in EVERY game whether or not a red card is deserved, I don’t know how “disorderly” is now judged.

Having said that, I do feel Conneely spends a bit too much of his time challenging the refs, and, no doubt, they get fed up with it.
But, on the evidence of the FGR match I’d suggest every club should be charged under this rule every time they play.

We do seem to get the rough end of the stick though when you consider we don't do anything different to what every other team does as part of the current game. It cant be an easy job as a referee in the modern game but, all we are asking is that we are treated fairly and decisions are consistent for both teams. For me, the best referee ive seen this season at the Wham is the lady referee by a country mile ( cant remember the game or the lady's name but i thought she did really well).

The EFL summary on Monday's in a daily newspaper is normally about 3 paragraphs for the whole of the EFL and we barely ever get a mention. This week at least a paragraph was Duncan Ferguson complaining about our players getting their poor innocent lamb sent off! Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

The FA are just clawing back Stanley’s winnings from the Cup. £3000 at a time.
