Ipswich Post Match
Cant fault the effort as the whole team put in a shift and you can see why Ipswich are promotion contenders. Always going to be hard when playing against moneybag teams who are paying out over a £1m for players and 5 figure weekly wages. On to the next game, lets hope for a win.

Jensen will be a massive miss

Re: Ipswich Post Match
Good to hear Coley ranting after the game, does not show enough for me :)
Might be raging inside, but needs to show it externally - in my opinion :) :) |

Re: Ipswich Post Match
No one really expected a different result but, sour grapes or not, the Ipswich player took a dive to ‘win’ the penalty.
He appears to jump over Jensen, land cleanly on his right foot with his body upright, and then decide to do a forward roll when he sees the ball going out. |

Re: Ipswich Post Match
Hate losing to Ipswich though with that horrible little twerp Morsey involved. Disgusting creature.

Re: Ipswich Post Match
Thought Mancini did quite OK, even if he undoubtedly is more suited to a proper midfield role where he can feed the strikers. Difficult to feed himself, though.
Nolan at left wing-back improved the forward play slightly imo. It was always going to be difficult, but Fernandes thinking about his birthday party rather than the opposing striker early on did not help. Sad about Jensen. Been our best player by a mile. |

Agree that the lads put a shift in, and never easy at Portman Road. However - not too pleased to see Seamus keep bollocking the kids around him. He's club captain, he should be the one keeping his head and encouraging the younger ones, not so obviously trashing them on the pitch. I thought Mancini was our best player by a country mile, superior control, balanced, able to play with his head up. Doesn't always pick the right pass, but he has the quality that we need more of. And we still haven't solved the conundrum up front. Aaron's a grafter and has presence, but at the moment doesn't have the sharpness to find space, whereas the lads who came on, Nathan and Korede gave us more pace but had no real service to feet, which is what they need. And unless bridges have been definitely burned, we must surely recall Toby. Everyone could see the last goal coming last night, all he had to do was get the ball over the wall, there was no way Liam was going to get across. I'm sure the lad's had the size thing thrown at him all his career, but this is the third tier of the national game, it's brutal. |

No problem at all with Seamus being vocal or giving guidance. But screaming and wildly gesticulating at a young lad doing his best and playing in a difficult situation? As for "why are you on there?" Some of these lads probably wouldn't be "on there" were it not for the injury situation. They have potential, but they are on a steep learning curve with little room for error, and it's a tall order for them at a place like Ipswich against more experienced players. As it happens, I think Coley learned this lesson a long time ago. |
