Tonights game
Greetings from a Pilgrim
I wrote for my sins a preview/review of the upcoming and just past fixtures omn the Argyle fan site Pasoti It is an unashamedly Green biased view of the fixture list and you are more than welcome to pop along and have a read....the current one obviously covers our win over FGR and tonights fixture but touches on all things red card , the state of the promotion race and tries to be tongue in cheek as well as reflecting the thoughts and fears of most football fans. Here is a link and there is an archive with a lot of the past issues although a couple of them have been misidentified and so you get the bizarre effect of reading the comments on a missing article. Obviously we need the win tonight as do you, so I can only wish you all the best after tonights fixture, as I think most Argyle fans would hope you survived over the likes of MK. I still think Oxford might well fall into the mire as they don't have the best run in. Anyway, as virtually no-one would say win the South West...yer tizzy's https://pasoti.co.uk/threads/one-gam...h-21st.122339/ |
Re: Tonights game
I wish you good luck at Wembley and, after tonight, for the rest of the season.;)

Re: Tonights game
When you are down, you’re down. Cruel goal!

Re: Tonights game
Hard enough playing against 11, let alone 12.......

Re: Tonights game
Is it a positive that Mo would have been on International Duty anyway???

Re: Tonights game
Tonight I can blame the Referee who was inept to say the least.
Plymouth were disappointing too.. Not a promotion team at all !. Think they were relieved at the end ?. The slippery slope to League 2 gets a little nearer though !.. On a positive note Michael Nottingham ( who in my opinion would be a better leader than McC !) Continues to improve. Just need Ethan and Coyle back to strengthen the midfield !. We must KTF !. |
Re: Tonights game
Given the ludicrous number of fouls given against us tonight, not to mention 5 more yellows, resulting in yet another red card, you could be forgiven for suspecting there's a conspiracy by the powers that be to ensure Stanley get relegated.

Re: Tonights game
I would like to think that if tonight's referee watches a video of the match he would extremely embarassed but most likely he will watch it and think he has had a superb match.

Re: Tonights game
Mr Bell was simply the worst referee I have ever seen!:help::surprise:
Five Yellow cards for Stanley, two of which were Sangare’s. For what we’re really only mistimed tackles. None for Plymouth who got away with loads of professional calculated fouls! There definitely seems to be a vendetta against Stanley. Every set piece ball we (predictably) bombed into their penalty box could have yielded a penalty for Stanley as Pressley and others had their shirts almost ripped off their backs! Defo penalty on nine minutes for hand ball and the most clear and obvious example of what Plymouth got away with all night very late on when Matt Lowe was shirt dragged down to the ground!!!!!! I thought our players gave their all tonight and that the supporters too were magnificent.:theband::mosher::jimbo::jimbo::jimbo: I came home with no voice left, mainly damaged due to ranting at the referee….. I repeat again…..WORST REFEREE IN MY 71 YEARS OF WATCHING AND PLAYING FOOTBALL!:pain30::signwier::evil::help: The standard of refereeing is now a real problem because their lack of application of the rules is simply ruining the game. Something has to be done! |
Re: Tonights game
I just hope that we never get Mr Bell at The Wham Stadium ever again.

Re: Tonights game
5 yellow cards, versus 0 yellow cards!! I just have no words any more.

Re: Tonights game
My theory is this.
At Wednesday, Barnsley, Ipswich, Derby, Bolton, even Plymouth, in front of crowds ten times that at Stanley, a weak ref would think twice about showing such outright bias against the home team. But this might leave them open to being accused of being ‘homers’ by their assessors. So, when they come to Stanley (and, who knows, maybe the likes of Morecambe) weak refs go out their way to give yellow cards to one team. And that way they can claim to the assessors that, look, I’m no ‘homer’. If I recall correctly, Homer was reputedly blind. Just like refs at Stanley. |
Re: Tonights game
I'd not seen this before, but this is how the Pilgrims left their dressing room:
