They did give it a go, but were beaten by a superior team.
Having said that, just before half time Henderson was fouled near the centre circle and the ref went (for once) to blow for a free kick for Stanley. However, he played advantage as Henderson stayed on his feet but then immediately lost the ball. Stockport broke from that and scored their second. Some advantage there, ref, thanks.
With their third, their winger was a good yard offside but the geriatric linesman was still waiting at the half way line for a bus, so missed that one.
The fourth was a gift from two Stanley players failing to do what defenders are supposed to do.
So, yes, Stockport outplayed Stanley in most areas of the field but, had Lady Luck not deserted the reds, it may have been a little less convincing for the champions.

Hi Exile, I note your comments about the ref and his assistants at yesterday's game. I was glad to see in John's post match interview that he "never" comments on the officials after a game......a refreshing change...let's hope it continues....because as we all know.....it doesn't change anything and certainly not the result. Thankyou for your comments.....

Absolutely spot on. Its also refreshing to observe in how he deals with the 4th official when he thinks something goes against us. He uses a nice calm attitude, without fuss yet still gets his points across. Well done John Doolan.
