Had the first half performance matched what happened in the second half my prediction would, sadly, have been bang on. This is going to be a very very long season.

Well, we scored a good goal. There first goal was handball in the lead-up to the cross that wasn't given....and shouldn't have been allowed. Donny obviously one of the top, fancied sides in League 2 and playing at home.....with a lot of talented players in there squad.........we won't have to play them at their place again this season I the league...Lot's of debuts for our lads out of the way......good experience for the team and we will get better. We also have other option's and players to utilise during the season and we've still got 23 home games to get points from.

One game down and 45 to play........let's give our new look manager and players a few games to see where we are at the end of October......

First game of the season and we did OK first half, not so good second half but Doncaster are a good team and even the elderly Billy Sharp is a threat at this level.
Positives are we WILL get better.

Good post match interview from John and Tyler. John not hiding from our short-comings and the positives, but also not choosing to blame the ref for the hand-ball incident resulting in Donny's goal.

Tyler's interview a real insight. Really please for the lad having just stepped up from Southport to League football......and him saying what he learned from actually playing in his first League game......making sure he got into the box for Whalley's cross having missed Connor's cross earlier......

Donny looked like a real goal scoring machine....and we failed to get close enough to them resulting in at least 2 of their goals.

I thought we were well in the game up to 50 minutes. Seb and Connor had very tough days. Gibson and Molyneaux were on fire. Donny will be up there - we won't. Our season wont depend upon games against the likes of Donny more the teams around us in mid division and below.
