vs Colchester

...somebody had to do it, and Stanley have lost perfectly well in the past with out my thread starting curse...and my man Hunter has graduated to the bench. Get him on, I've got a lazy $5 on him to score.

Result apart i thought we played reasonably well today. Thought we got a little nervy in the second period of the game and its a real shame we didn't take our chances in scoring a second goal as i feel this would have settled us down. We are getting better though so hopefully onwards and upwards.

Constantly being on his ample arse but throwing a hissy because he didn’t always “win” a free kick by falling over? That seemed to be his MO.

Other than one grown-up infant* trying to spoil the game, it was yet another a good, exciting match at The Wham.
Overall, draw probably a fair result but Stanley should, could, and would have won had they taken just one of the several good chances they created. Felt for Shaun Whalley at the death.
But the first half was a tremendous display from Stanley. Everyone played really well, especially Seb Quirk as stand-in left back. They deserved more than a one goal lead.
Second half, Colchester upped their tempo, starting with the ever dangerous Kyle Taylor up front and making subs every ten minutes between 55th and 75th minute to maintain a fast pace. Stanley’s players flagged, understandably, and again the subs were made too late. The captain was out on his feet by the 50th minute, and others not far behind.
But no one can deny we don’t get to watch action packed football at Whambley.

* he just beat the ref to that title.

Just seen one of their fans on Andy Holt's time line alleging racist behaviour against him by Stanley fans. Hence the club online post I assume.

That notice might be interpreted as suggesting the club think there may be an issue. In my Twitter exchange this morning with Andy Holt where I "[got] on his nerves" he pushed back strongly against any such interpretation but did say the club were investigating.

I have been following the club's fortunes since shortly after the end of the old Stanley and have attended many matches home and away. As I said to him I have never detected any racism amongst Stanley fans.

Back to the game :)

Fair result over the 90 minutes in my opinion, Walton played well again, chose correctly almost every time - unlike some of his team mates.

Shaun Whalley still defying logic :)

Seamus ran the game for 60 minutes, but it is a worry that he cannot last a full match so early on... we lost all control and composure once he went off - what will we do next season???

The lads from Rovers and Burnley looked OK - LB has to start next time out :)

Sad state of affairs ... but not the first time.

2022 against Wigan.

Get him/her/them identified and banned.
