Could do without that..... Bradford, plus today and Newport to come....

Great though when you are on a winning run :)

Never heard anything like it! What's wrong with playing with a brightly coloured ball.for heavens sake!!
Methinks the ref just wants to get home for another Christmas dinner

Sounds more like the 1950s/60s. Don’t remember the last time I read “Fog stopped play”

When was this decided? Appears to be the only game in England, Scotland & Wales to be postponed due to fog - Ludicrous!

Ha! You call that fog?
Here's an image from the good old days, when you could field 15 players and no one had a clue.
What an opportunity missed

I often used to go and watch Great Harwood midweek in the late 60's / ear;y 70's when Bryan Douglas and a number of other ex Rovers and Burnley players were turning out for them. Vividly remember a match against Kirkby Town where it was abit misty when they kicked off. Kirkby scored early and then after about 20 minutes the fog got really thick. We were struggling to see the linesman on our side. Duggie came and stood and next to us in his kit saying (I think with some expletives) that he'd told the ref he wasn't running about in that but the ref said he wasn't abandoning it until the scores were level. He occasionally disappeared back on to the pitch to check they were still there, went back to the dressing room at half time, returned with his jacket on over his shirt which he then left with us for his occasional trips back on to the pitch. Eventually, after about 80 minutes we heard a shout that seemed to indicate a goal might have been scored followed by a long blast on the ref's whistle and the match was abandoned. We'd seen very little of it and the conditions were no worse that they'd been for the previous hour. The good old days!

I can recall a Boxing Day home match versus Fleetwood back in our non league days and it was a bit foggy as the match kicked off. Fleetwood were playing in an ALL GREY kit which was helping them to blend in with the fog! The fog got thicker and by half time visibility was down to only being able to see up to half way! Fleetwood came out for the second half wearing a borrowed yellow Stanley kit as the referee had threatened to abandon the match. I think the score finished up at 1-1.:hidewall:
