I think we'd have done 'em, if only Kiwi hadn't started the thread .... watching on telly, it seemed we kept their crowd pretty quiet!

Liverpool fan asks me if Accrington can take Núñez on loan for the rest of the season.

They were very quiet throughout, Chimer, apart from getting off their arses to celebrate each goal. The Ultras finally goaded them into a song or two towards the end. |
Re: The Very Early Liverpool 'Battle of Anfield' thread.
Watching via the internet here in Switzerland, I think Stanley put on a good show and can be proud with the way they played.
Incidentally I was with my Dad in 1956 in Liverpool watching the then Stanley (best Stanley team ever) also in the 3rd round of the FA cup. Cheers Phil Kenyon (late Belfield Road Accrington) |

Apart from the score what was you best and worst thing about yesterday?
|
Re: The Very Early Liverpool 'Battle of Anfield' thread.
Worst was waiting for more than 1 hour - delayed - for the train (and thinking it would be cancelled) :(
Best was the attitude of the Stewards - fantastic :) :) |

Worst: Not managing to score. I think we deserved a goal. |
Re: The Very Early Liverpool 'Battle of Anfield' thread.
Best:[/B] Managing to watch the match live via internet.
Worst: Having to muddle around until I finally got the right internet address for the match. |
Re: The Very Early Liverpool 'Battle of Anfield' thread.
Agree, Val, the stewards were fantastic. And there were probably more of them than Stanley fans.
Fantastic to be inside a full Anfield watching our lads, once in a lifetime event. |
Re: The Very Early Liverpool 'Battle of Anfield' thread.
The best - walking up through Stanley Park all.together with the Ultras flags ahead of us & knowing that me, my sons, my grandaughter & my nephew were following in the footsteps of my mum.who'd made the same journey back in 1956, emotional stuff for sure
The worst - nothing i can think of that spoiled the day, except for not getting just that one goal.maybe |
