Even in the "Mickey Mouse" years we never had this.

Second week of May and nothing about season tickets as yet.

Very worrying given all the recent shenanigans.

Gives us more time to save up!

Re: season ticket 25/26

The thing is, start to sell them in March/April, regardless of where we are, people will buy.

Now the season has finished, the appetite is not the same.

We are not like Bradford - selling 10'000 plus - we struggle to get to 1000 - and I am never sure of that figure.

Starting to sell them in May, is not great..... if we miss out on 50 sales, it is still a loss....

All the noise coming out of the Club is every penny is precious...so why not get them on sale???

IF we were worried about which League we would be playing in - not that it should make that much difference - have two prices ready, then go with the relevant one immediately...

Better still, just sell them and IF we had gone down, give a pre-determined refund, or give a pre-determined reward back - a free hospitality, a free footy shirt.

Not at any point having a go, but we just seem to have got this one wrong.....

:) :) :)

I'm going to buy two season tickets this year. I don't care when they go on sale.....Come on you reds, there's never been a club to support like Stanley...think of
Jack Barrett standing up in Accy Town Hall in 1968 demanding Accrington needed a football team...have you all forgotten what happens when we lose our club....don't you dare, I said DO NOT DARE NOT BUY YOUR SEASON TICKET...OR YOU'LL ANSWER TO ME!!!!

So the the appetite of “floating fans” for more football at The Wham was greater in March, when Stanley were languishing at 22nd in the league with a real prospect of demotion, rather than now with the certainty of league. 2?
As you and Crown Grounder state real fans like those on here will buy a season ticket to support the club whatever league it’s in.

Just don’t understand what all the moaning is about - anyone on here demanding to renew next year’s car insurance several months before it expires?

VALAIRIAN 09-05-2025 11:44

Re: season ticket 25/26

I like the car insurance analogy ;)

But season tickets - football in general - is different :)

It is my strong belief that we will have lost some sales and they all count :)

I am also thinking about the message the Club is sending out about finances - Academy springs to mind...

:)

Re: season ticket 25/26

I think the message is, and has always been, the same.

In a “business” where costs continue to be inflated, beyond even the means of millionaires, by the rulers of petro-states, et al, a club like Stanley that struggles to attract more than 2000 supporters from its own town, is going to have to operate “hand-to-mouth”.

Were it any different, the club might have changed owners a few years ago.

Yes you're right Joe, I hadn't clocked that bit - right now i'm seriously considering not renewing with this stupid rule in place on top of the big price rise, I'll.pick & choose my games & possibly attend more away fixtures instead

At the fan forum Warren Eastham said season tickets would see a small rise if any at all, 2 weeks later there is a 16% rise.

With the academy stuff it showed the fan forum was just bluster.

My thoughts exactly Chewbacca and I find myself thinking what next........

Playing budget springs to mind :(

Lot can happen in a day never mind 2wks in a football club. when the forum was held may be all was well behind the scenes but like I said things can change with in a day or 2.. I'm not over happy about the rise I have 3 adults and 2 under 12's season tickets I have every season! But that's still £7.50 less per game than paying on the day..

The "ultimate way" to spread the cost AccyMad. And in many ways better for the club as you are not likely to miss many games.

Shame he wasnt so open about why he threw 150 grand down the drain by capping the away fans at the last 3 games money that would have probably gone a long way to covering the academy loses.

And why wont he come out and say why they cant cut the full time staff back to the minimum which i believe if you could find someone to run the admin on a voluntary basis or get a company to second a member of staff to do it as a sponsorship would be just 5

For him to just throw a strop and close the academy down is a disgrace.

Whats he gonna shut down next just because there isnt the funding ?

I wouldnt put money on the shirt giveaway happening this year would you ?

I would have thought a big part of his job would be to go out and find the funding.

If Andy Holt isnt willing to fund the club going forward [ and i cant see how this 250k thing is going to work lets say the club loses 750k this year with no cup or transfer income what happens this time next year when the EFL come looking for the security of funding agreement they arent going to accept his 250k deal are they ? ] why doesnt he just clear the debts and give it away. there are any number of potential owners who would be interested if that was the case.

Over say 5 years dozens must have approached Carlisle's old owners even with a 2.5 million debt because if there was no football debt it made the club an attractive proposition as the 2.5 m debt would be very hard to collect without shutting the club down and even if youre a tax exile living in Dubai thats not something anyone with assets and family still in this country with any sense would consider doing.

What i find hard to understand is the way AH has gone about his exit surely it cant all be down to the rows with the council and then shutting his Twitter and making statements on the OS with mis leading headings all seems very strange to me i know there were a lot of league two owners who would have loved to see him become the lge rep and shake things up from the inside.

Not defending anybody here NORTHERNSOUL, but I am sure that Warren said at the Fans' Forum the limits on away supporters was due to Policing bills.

Also, do we know who made the decision to close the Academy....????

I didnt know that but i.ve tried to listen the recording of the forum twice now but the sound quality is atrocious.

But if thats true its even more ridiculous refusing to pay say an extra 5k for 20 extra plod which then costs 50k in lost sales. Are non of the club staff able to use a calculator ?

But then you have to ask did plod not ask for the extra money when Bradford visited just 3 weeks earlier.

Well as AH has apparently just walked away you have to assume it was the new CEO making the decisions

You should have just told Carlisle the situation and i.m pretty sure the Yanks would have been more than happy to pay it given some of the crap theyve wasted their money on this year.
