Glad that Conor Grant and Dan Martin have both been offered new contracts.:wub8: I am not surprised by the names on the released list.:hidewall:

I’m glad to that Dan Martin may stay. Only one released that surprised me was Seb Quirk as he always seemed to do a decent job when drafted in, but maybe he didn’t want to stay.

The retained list would have been noticeably shorter but for so many still being under contract.

The good thing - I think/hope - is that the 16 retained players could be fielded as a team, by that I mean we do not have 12 midfielders, or 4 keepers ;)

Wouldn't think we'll be able to afford Grant, probably a luxury we can't afford....Dan's had very little game time....was he injured? Hope we keep Dan now Seamus has retired/ moved on....

When you say someone has moved on it intimates that it was the person's choice.
It wasn't.
The Club decided not to renew.
He hasn't retired.

Your right Val about Jimmy, but he contributed more than a lot of our "signed" strikers over that last 10 years. And at least we've got some money from his sale.....not just released at the end of his contract or paid-off to go elsewhere......it was a huge step-up for the lad in my opinion...

Val, have you forgotten it's how we stay afloat......didn't Ben sign a new improved contract during last season. At least that will mean we get a decent fee for him if he does go.....which will support the club through the forthcoming season....if by chance he does stay then we keep one of our best players.

Oh, yea of little faith.
Glad Grant has signed on again and hope he can bring some experience in the middle.

Yes I agree about Grant Exile, just thought he'd want to much in wages. He played most games if not all in the 4 or 5 right at the end of the season...he looks up, passes well and doesn't panic.......not sure we saw enough of him, may have been down to fitness....certainly worth a contract if he doesn't pick up injuries.
