Morecambe

Their board of directors have issued an ultimatum to the owner to complete the sale they announced would be happening a few weeks ago or they will.place the club into administration - I know we have our differences with the Shrimps but nobody wants to see them implode

Re: Morecambe

The owner (Whittingham) has just sacked all the 5 local board of directors and intends placing his own directors in place.

Not looking good , can't see us playing you any time soon !

It's absolutely diabolical what that man is getting away with - surely he must be answerable to someone.
Really hope Mfc can survive this mess, best of luck

Wish all at Morecambe FC the best ...except for "that Asset stripper" and his friends......looks to me like they'll go bust and have to reform at some stage. Which I'm sure they will in time......Good Luck Shrimps...

Still looking bleak at Morecambe. Looks like Administration followed by Liquidation on the cards. Still maybe Panjab Warriers ( the most recent buyer and have put money into the club to keep it afloat last season) ....maybe able to buy the club if it is Liquidated....?

Re: Morecambe

The Shrimps have today been suspended from the National League until 20th August, if a sale hasn't gone through by then they will be excluded from their league - sad news

Re: Morecambe

Very sad news. Hopefully it will provoke some action with the sale. Shows what can happen with dodgy owners. Fingers crossed that we never find ourselves in that sort of a position again.

Re: Morecambe

It beggers belief that Whittingham can keep coming up with obviously untrue statements and yet be allowed to run a business of any kind. When it comes to a point where very few employees, players and ground staff are getting any wage at all would any stewards be willing to attend matches without being paid in advance and if not would the game be allowed to go ahead?

Excellent in-depth analysis of Morecambe's current situation & why it's still not over till the fat lady sings.
Fingers crossed for a shrimp based miracle.

Not sure they have enough players for a starting Eleven, never mind a bench. Hope it works out..
But I'm one of those who think they may have been better going out of business and starting again from scratch......

Surely that would have meant starting from the very bottom of the football pyramid?
At least they're still in the National League, only one step down from the EFL
Let's hope they can cobble a team together for Saturday.

The new owners put free food on at a stall outside the ground and came into the bars meeting the fans which makes a nice change compared with the previous owner !

We had 5 senior players on Tuesday so to put out a team that had had no pre season and were visibly tiring in the 2nd half and score a winner in the 8th minute of added time was just superb !
