League table
We are now bottom of League Two
God help us :theband::theband::theband: |

In the words of Yazz.......... "The only way is up!" :)
Yes I know I have quoted before ;) :) |
Re: League table
We never recovered from Cheltenhams goal in the first minute. I thought the lady referee had a decent game overall but in my opinion the free kick leading to the goal should never have been given, it was never a foul. The only real chance we had was from Walton whose cross rolled off the bar.
That being said i thought we had a far better possession ratio and tried to play football at times, but, we never really look like scoring. Worrying times me thinks. |
Re: League table
When we win our game in hand, we will be 19th and it will be smiles all round :)

Mind you, we can look forward to playing Morecambe again in season 2027/28 in National League North :theband::theband::theband: |
Re: League table
When you can't score a goal in over 3 hours of football against the two teams with the worst defences in L2 there's something seriously wrong.
Till we played the Shrews & Cheltenham, they both had only 1 point after 6 games & propped up the table. Now, we are the team rock bottom. After a shocking single shot on target in 96 minutes of play, perhaps it's not surprising. The future's already looking bleak for Stanley unless something changes - and quick! |
Re: League table
And we’re the only team in League Two without a win in the League this season. And we’re not guaranteed anything against Colchester next week either

Re: League table
:( very disappointing i can't see us improving anytime soon.whalley is a massive loss for us. Would a Jack Nolan improve our team if hes not fixed up yet...

Re: League table
The only guarantee on offer to Stanley fans at the moment is perpetual disappointment.
Time for Doolan to shape up or ship out. |

Re: League table
The table makes grim reading but it's early days - we've always played worse against teams around us & fared much better against those above, well there's plenty above us just now so hopefully, as Val said the only way is up

Re: League table
I'm not in the least surprised by today's result. I don't think Cheltenham are that bad a team. They introduced two signings today. A betting site asked for forecasts on Twitter and I predicted a Cheltenham win. That put me in the minority. At least it was a narrow score line.
I don't want to put a lot of weight on young shoulders but I was very heartened by Isaac Heath's performance at Fleetwood. |
Re: League table
..I can only imagine how ****ed off you must all feel, but the tentacles of disappointment are stretching right round the world. I thought ,going by pre season results, that goals would flow more often this season. If we're still the anchor come the end of September, I too will be yelling for a management change. ..maybe I will have to resume getting up for the games and ,dare I suggest, starting a match thread...

Re: League table
Too much quality missing in key positions for me. No proper spine to the team. Doolan certainly doesn't know or is able to play his best eleven. Perhaps it is too early to judge. Results in next 5 games will now be crucial to how the season pans-out.

Stanley now the strongest team in the English Football…….’Holding every body else up above us!’:hidewall:

Re: League table
I think you can probably blame me for this one. First time I've watched in yonks, and they concede within a minute. Hey ho ......
Luckily the rest of my weekend away went much better! |
Re: League table
I've asked this a lot and don't seem to get a proper answer.
It aso seems to get washed over in the Manager's interviews. What injury has Whalley sustained and what is the prognosis ? I might have missed the answer. |
Re: League table
Doolan said before Cheltenham that he wasn’t worried because we were creating chances. Time for him to worry then, because we did not create awt at Cheltenham, the only chance a wayward cross that dropped onto the crossbar.
He also said that “we believe in what we are doing”. I wonder what that is, cause I don’t believe in it. There is no quality in midfield, mainly because we don’t have one. With five at the back and Coyle an inch and a half ahead of the centre back trio, what else can you do but hoof a long ball up for someone to chase? Doolan may not be worried, but he should be, and I am very worried. |
Re: League table
I know people from the club read this message board.
It would be good if the club arranged for a supporters forum to be arranged (soon) with the manager in attendance in clearing up our concerns. |

From what I understand, he has a quad strain/injury but, if that’s true, I don’t know which of the six muscles are involved. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1257...nd-study-guide |
Re: League table
I too am very worried Greger mainly because so far this season appears to being a rerun of last season with the managers comments after a game seeming to be again a rerun of last seasons interviews. It has been said before on here this season "there is no Morecambe or Carlisle to save us this season".

Re: League table
We all know where the problem lies - it's our inability to score goals.
After over 9 hours of league football we've only managed 3. This is a serious problem which, if unresolved, will eventually become fatal. The crazy thing is, after gifting Cheltenham a goal after 2 minutes, we enjoyed approaching 70% possession in the first half-hour. Yet that domination was wasted based on our pathetic single goal attempt in 96 minutes of play. This fact leads me to conclude there is a fundamental flaw in the way the team are coached There are fans who refuse to accept hard facts, making light of defeats and hoping that things will improve. I bet the fans of Carlisle & Morecambe held those same hopes last season. So much for hope! |

What I do know is that his current methods aren't producing results. We escaped relegation by the skin of our teeth last season and after the results against the Shrews & Cheltenham we look odds-on candidates for the drop. The return of Whalley & Rawson could make the difference. The sooner the better |
