todays team vs tamworth

is as follows:-

Paul Crichton
Peter Cavanagh
Robbie Williams
Jonathan Smith
Chris Butler
Steve Flitcroft
Andrew Procter
Paul Cook
Rory Prendergast
Paul Mullin
Lee McEvilly

Subs:

Jon Kennedy
Danny Alcock
Steve Halford
Ian Craney
Paul Howarth

Any one else find it strange that we have two keepers on the bench!!!

A little over cautious me thinks!!!

And now we're a goal down.

1 good thing though, ian craney has come on for paul cook!!!

Re: todays team vs tamworth

exactly, it must be obvious that Craney is soooooo much better than Cook. And, i think it was better when it was just Jimmy Bell and Coley coaching the team, because if Cook is coaching then the players will learn to play like him and who would want a team of Paul Cooks?

Re: todays team vs tamworth

i have just got back from todays game, it was great to see so many faces there i recognised and made a change for me to travle further than the rest of you for a away game, i have to say that when you play mullin and evil up front together your options are very limited as the two players play a very similar game they were both going for the same balls or running into the same space, evil spent more of the game trying to get there number 5 booked, as of today unless somthing is done im afraid that we are no longer play off material. this is my opinion, can anybody convince me outherwise, but still we may win the rest of the season, hope to see you all at exeter trying to keep the faith maidstone accy

it was on the radio a couple of days ago that because cookie, coley and jimmy

get left out kind of thing because they are just training attacking moves

what do you lot think???

Hang me out to dry if you all wish, but, we need a new direction, this management team have run out of ideas. No I'm not moaning at the first defeat, or being negative, but being courageous and by saying I've seen enough and it's not good enough.

FULL TIME..........my backside, we played better controlled football last year!

The attendance will pay the price unfortunately.

Never mind asking where Lutel is.........Whats Tony Parkes upto these days!!

Re: todays team vs tamworth

Well Redskin, I have got to agree with you. We are definitely not promotion or play off material this year. We will be lucky to keep in the hunt for the Micky Mouse cup that means we have to finish in the top 12. Yes we DO need a striker urgently, and I don't think Lutel James is the solution. Sorry if that goes against the grain. yes he has been a wonderful servant for the club in the past, but this season has shown his true colours and they are not Red and White. Every time I have seen him, he seems disinterested. The fans are getting disgruntled, 10 defeats only half way through the season is NOT promotion material. O.K. we may be sixth, but if teams below us win there games in hand, God only knows where we will be. I believe the attendances are already paying the price. Keep The Faith, gives us something to keep the faith about.

couldnt agree more with outback ozzy, we need a different direction,a new forward or two a goalkeeper that keeps his area not his half

A new forward 100%...

But a keeper? I dont think so, Just get JK back in there and Danny on the bench and that numpty Crichton Cryton Clown, however its spelt OUT.

Im sorry but he makes far too many stupid errors, hes the English Barthez!

Re: todays team vs tamworth

I have said before a change of management and direction is now necessary. And, yes, I am saying it again after another defeat because if you say it after a win everyone says don't be stupid - we've just won 5-0 and you're complaining! In the paper Mr Coleman states we're as good as any team in the league and he'd be surprised if we lost the league game against Hereford later this season. Sorry, Mr C, don't see it myself - bit fanciful I'd say. He says he's looking for a striker but sees no urgency in finding one as we're already okay as far as he's concerned. Where's his white stick? Then again, Mr C thinks Robbie Williams is the bees knees and has said he can't understand why league clubs aren't queueing up to sign him. Hmm...maybe the league clubs are all stupid but somehow I doubt it. The guy makes horrendous mistakes at least every other game. I thank Mr Coleman for all he's done and achieved at Stanley but it seems clear he can't take us any further.

Re: todays team vs tamworth

I've got to disagree with the above calling for Coley's head.....

This is our FIRST season full-time in the conference and training every day we havent adapted to it yet. I've been to every game this season and I know I and a lot of other fans get frustrated some games with our performance but I think we need to be a bit more patient for things to work.

Yesterday was a match which was very frustrating and yes I believe we need to stengthen in our attacking options. We need a striker who is quick and can score a lot of goals and is proven to at this level. At this moment in time we are creating chances but we cant finish.

I fully believe that Coley, Jimmy and Cooky will take us to the football league and maybe still can be done this year (strengthening needed) but I still believe this.

As fans all we can do is give our full support to the team and the management and surely by calling for the managers head isnt giving them your full support. I know the results are poor of late but we need to keep or heads together, be patient and surely it will come.

So lets show the team and management that we give them are full support and again KEEP THE FAITH!

Steven, I and probably you have been to games this season that we have played brilliant and not got any points or just a draw,I know some of our performances have been dire this year but thats football.

We dominated the game yesterday but we just lack the cutting edge upfront as has been the case from many games this season.....But it's an area we CAN improve and I think Coley will improve in the near future. There's no point at all in panic buying for a striker. Coley watches the same game as we do and as he was a striker he will be noticing that we are missing too many chances if we want to be promoted. But there's no point at all in going out in the transfer market or loans etc to get a player who is no better than we already have.

Got to agree with you, Willie'

Been to every home game, plus couple of away, (sorry, Ultras, can't make 'em all!) & I've yet to see a good performance.......even the games we've won, (6 nil including), we didn't play particularly well.....still came away thinking we could have done better.

Don't think we're play-off material, however much I'd love us to be, as long as we we keep in top half, I'll be reasonably happy. We will only get better as time goes on!!

Got to admit, that everytime Cookie comes on, my groan is heard throughout the ground!!!!

Is he on appearance money???

Why on earth should he start ahead of Craney??

Who's decision was that??

As proved in our last home game, we have a 'hard-core' of approximately 900 fans.
Apart from this forum, how else can we make our opinions heard??

Not calling for Coley's head, as some others appear to be, I personally think he's doing a good job...

But why are we acting like Man City?

Good performances against the better teams, crap against those below us??

Sorry, guys, lots of ????
I'm confused!!

I just think its laughable to be calling for coleys head, we are in a hard league and are winning games we dont expect to be winning (hereford at home/york away/ morecambe away) all brilliant wins, just because we are not doing this week in week out dosnt make us a bad team.

all im saying is, we are more than halfway through the season and still play offs is a big possibility, you can not get rid of a manager in this situation, this is a good league and we are still the newboys, 10th was good last season if we can improve on that there is no reason i can find to have a moan at the manager.

I think Ian Craney deserved to be dropped from the starting line up yesterday, his performances of late haven't been good enough and he has been becoming complacent.

It's not ALL Cooky's fault give him a break there is 10 more players on the pitch!

But I think it was a good decision yesterday for Ian to be dropped just to show him that if he isnt playing upto standard he wont be picked.....

Smiffy, you may well have been to more matches than most of us who reply on this forum, but I have been to quite a few and can i say, that Stanley simply haven't been good enough since end of October early November. That was 3 months ago and yes Stanley do get a win now and again, but this is simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH. To be successful, we need to winning every match regardless of who we are playing. We should not be getting draws or being beaten by the likes of Northwick/Farnboro etc etc. If by some chance we do get promotion this season and it is a huge if, then we will struggle like Shrewsbury are this season. Stop looking through rose coloured specs.

Do we have a problem with our players, or our management????

Why did we wait for the first minute of the second half to be played before we brought on Craney for Cook, why not sub him at half time ?

Where was Jagielka ?

Why did we have TWO goalkeepers on the bench ?

Evil was more interested in his personal duel with Redmile than passing the ball.

Smith made a schoolboy error for the goal - letting the ball bounce.

Cav is the captain yet he never opens his mouth - Cook was doing all the shouting.

Why does Crichton act stupid most of the time ?

When are we going to get our defence sorted out ?

When are we going to score a goal - three games without one ?

If we don't get these things sorted out we will be lucky to finish in the top half of the league.

Although I believe a change of management and approach are necessary it's realistically not going to happen I know. I think it was Tin Monkey who, some time ago, pointed out what such action would cost the club. Then again, if gates continue to fall (somewhat likely in the circumstances) who knows..? The gate against York will be very interesting.

Isn't footy brilliant? Coley and Jimmy have dragged this club kicking and screaming out of non-league obscurity, so just because expectations haven't yet been reached in the FIRST season of full time football, let's kick them out!! Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! In reply to TM's comments, we haven't got a cat in hells chance in either cup - Shrimpers in the Marsden, and although we may very well beat York (although on the basis of us losing against lower opposition- remember Leigh in the FA cup) we might not. I am not championing the idea of releasing JC or JB but maybe our tactics need changing, because most teams are reading how we play.

Some people would be happier with us back in the HFS Loans League....

Whinging is in some peoples nature, next time we have a display maybe they'll join in & enjoy themselves. Very poor at Tamponworth but sack Coley.....you are avin a laff. Most people thought we'd struggle at the foot of the conference I'm sure Bluebird did. But Coley assembled a squad that finished 10th in the first season & third round in the FA Cup. Have u all forgot that.....Look down the table at Burton & Nigel Clough, then ask who is doing a good job

A famous person once said, you're only as good as your last result.

Most people are not calling for the management to be sacked, but the team (not the club) do appear to be going backwards this season. Why can't people say that on a public forum without being called whingers?

The past is the past, unless of course you see the world through rose-tinted glasses.

WE LOVE YOU SIR JC, JB & EW

Playing the football that we currently are, it is going to be very difficult to retain the neutral supporter or to grow our fan base. The gates this season, for me, have been very disappointing, and will probably get worse. I hate defeat, like everyone else, however its is always easier to stomach when you can see progress or committment, I can't see either at the moment.

Something has got to change.................at some point!

I'm no more, or less, of a supporter than anyone else. Perhaps my expectations are higher than others?........who knows! I spend my hard earned money on the gate and in the shop, then Saturday comes! I start with belief that today will be the day, that all the training ground tactics will fall in place...........but I'm still waiting.

I appreciate what JC & the Directors have achieved. I want nothng more than to see Accy Stan in the football league!

But, there comes a point in life when you have to realise that not matter how much you scream and shout, and bang your drum, you ain't going to flog a dead horse!

Stan Collymore is not the only player to be involved in ‘dogging’. The Stanley back four have been spotted standing around, watching other people score for ages.

Re: todays team vs tamworth

I don't agree with those who are baying for Coley's blood but I do think we've got to ask ourselves who's really in charge these days. When you look back at Coley and Jimmy's record over the last few years at the Stanley we couldn't ask for more. I really don't believe they could have lost all their magic. So what's changed this year?

Paul Cook as coach!! - What's all that about?? Is he responsible for picking the teams? That could explain some of the choice of players. It's like being back at school, picking all your mates for the team(never mind talent and commitment).
And I can't even begin to tell you how my heart sinks whenever he comes on the pitch himself. Groans all around me. I've heard all the talk of experienced player etc. but the way I see it (me just being a girl and all that) he just runs around the pitch like a headless chicken (more often than not away from the ball). For experienced player read has-been. Coley and Jimmy didn't need him to get us promoted. Time to go I'd say.

As someone said earlier, it's not just about getting beaten, it's not even about getting beaten by crummy teams, it's about loyal fans turning up week after week to see a bunch of lads who couldn't give a damn about winning the game. Everyone can have a bad day and make silly mistakes but some players (and we all know who they are) couldn't care less - they're going to get paid anyway.

Frank M came on the bus on Saturday to apologise for the shoddy performance and promised us things would change, I really hope it is true. Some of us will keep on supporting Stanley whatever happens but we can't survive just with the hardcore of fans, we still need the new, "part time" and "fickle" fans that some of you seem to dispise. Not just for the gate income but also to build a bigger permanent fan base.
If we get back to playing good football they will come!

Alice well said...... Let us know who you are??:)

Kipax you have got us going now.....;)

Have never understood the Cooky/Jimmy Bell, Position.

I really believe we have the players to get into the football league, but something else is holding them back... As Jase said recently " Let the lads of the leash ".. But who is holding the other end of the leash ?????????????????????

One Manager, One Coach............... And my vote goes to Sir Jimmy Bell..:)

There's a vacancy at Gravesend, their manager's just resigned, that'd be far enough away for Mr Cook don't you think?

Sure he wasn't over at Marine applying for their vacant manager's post? Would think he'd be a favourite for that one if he applied.
