How will this affect the Barnet gate?
A couple of teams in small towns near Accy have just been drawn together in the FA Cup on the very day that we could have one of our biggest attendances of the season. I wonder if there's any chance of moving it?

Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
You can try but I don't think burnley and blackburn will rearrange there game for us :)
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
Nice one! :) I would imagine their match will have a 12.00 kick-off so maybe we promote the ficture on the theme - "Watch 2 games in one afternoon." :)
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
yeah, blackburn/burnley will be on tv. Probably saturday dinner time.
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
Possibly Burnley v Blackburn could be on television, then it would be 12.30pm or 5.30pm on a Saturday or on Sunday afternoon.
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
burnley could be on tv and so could be changed for s different day

Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?

Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
I thought it was obvious who I meant JEFF.......and even more obviously not your good self..
Accystankev books his first away trip to halifax on the coach.. 2 seats for 20 quid. Then he doesnt turn up and the coach has two free seats after turning people away... he then tells everyone he is poorly and couldn't go... we then find out he went to the burnley home game instead.... So that makes him a dingle in my little black book :) |
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
He is not just a dingle but a pest as well.
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
Just a point of order here chaps, I think you are all missing the point. Who on earth in this neck of the woods would want to watch Burnley v Blackburn Rovers. I would have thought either the BBC or Sky will plump for the Manchester United v Everton clash as THE game of the round, with a certain Wayne Rooney returning to his old haunts. Burnley v Blackburn - don't make me laugh. Like watching Wigan Athletic or worse.

Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
Don't be under any illusions that the FA run football; they don't, the bizzies do. I will bet you that this little encounter wil be re-arranged to Sunday lunchtime, on police orders. So the biggest game in the area, on that particular Saturday afternoon will be Stanley versus Barnet.

Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
Barnet don't bring that many fans.. how is this supposed to be the biggest attendance of the season anyway?
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
I didn't say it was going to be the biggest attendance of the season...just one of the biggest. With a couple of wins against Scarborough and Exeter (fingers crossed!) and the extra interest provided by playing the team who will probably be conference champs, I would've expected the game to attract around 1,800 - our third biggest attendance, but perhaps I was being wildly over-optimistic as usual!

Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
I would love to see it mate. We all would..... But somehow I can't .....
You know my view... getting bigger crowds is a long term thing.. you wont boost them this season or next to any great extent... its a long term thing that needs adressing now! But no one listens :( |

Fantastic game for the neutrals. This game will deffinitely be on TV. Sunday with a 12pm kick off will probably be when the tie is played. This is one tie that Sky/BBC dont get to chose the kick off time, the police will be choosing it for safety thats why it will be in the morning. Police arevery dissapointed with this tie because of all the trouble that will happen. I think this will affect our attendance a bit against Barnet even though they wont be playing on the same day or time. |
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
what about Liverpool v Everton or Any of the north east lot?
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
Are you real? a relagation threaten club with no history and a perment lower league club wow how exciting either Englands gone down hill and forgotten about Newcastle and Sunderland, Spurs v Arsenal, Villa v Birmingham or any of the other 100 or so Derbys that are way above those two.
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
stanley v barrow?
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
Stanley v anybody from the Northwest....... still be more entertaining
|
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
Lowely and BAZF, I think you may have lost the plot a little bit here. We are talking FA Cup, NOT league rivalries. and anyway, if my mind serves me, Liverpool, Sunderland Middlesborough are all out of the cup so can't play Everton/Newcastle. What the original thread was about was how the derby game between Rovers and Dingles would affect Stanley v Barnet gate!!!!

Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
burnley bs rovers one of the biggest rivalies in the country are u having a lugh mate
think about it |
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?

Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
According to the FA, televised 5th round matches are:
Saturday 12 February - BBC 1 Tottenham Hotspur v West Bromwich Albion, kick-off 5.30pm Sunday 13 February - Sky Sheffield United v West Ham United, kick-off 4.00pm |
Re: How will this affect the Barnet gate?
Even if it doesnt get televised Im sure the coppers will shift the 'kick off' time anyway. And I very much doubt it, even if they didnt, that it would affect our gate as it seems to me neither Walkers or Dingles fans are coming onto Accy anyway so it wont make the slightest bit of difference to the gate...
