In spite of a couple of inspired substitutions which turned us from a good attacking side to a poor defensive one.

I asked the same question some months ago, but what's wrong with Danny Allcock? Played a cracker at Morecambe, but on the bench today.

Here's another question, why's Crichton in the team?

Take a look at this made me chuckle although Cricht's did have a good game today except one mistake th whole game,

Is Paul Crichton's dad a reporter for BBC??

JK NUMBER ONE, JK, JK NUMBER ONE

Re: Way to go Stanley

One mistake? How about in the first half when he 'fell over' and nearly let the ball bobble in to the goal?

"nearly" didnt cost us anything

Very enjoyable game today. Evil worked his socks off and Mullins delight on scoring was ajoy to behold. Defended way too deep second half against a pretty poor Scarborough side, but three points will do. That BBC report was well crap

Re: your sig - Easyjet arent tekkin no-one ere - and its run by a Cypriot ..

Looks like my comment in the prediction league thread was confirmed although I do believe he saved a couple of stunners - and that the Scabs couldnt shoot for poo - lucky for us :)

Paul earned his corn in the first half with one very good save, and one totally stupendous save.

BBC have it right on the day.

There is no greater admirer of Danny Alcock than yours truly, and it's on record.

Nevertheless , Crichton was Admirable today.

Re: Way to go Stanley

But will Crichton turn up on tuesday? Surely it would be better to have a reliable keeper that can come to every game?!

woody 06-02-2005 11:51

Re: Way to go Stanley

but why put Crichton in against scab after Danny Alcock's heroic display against the shrimps? danny was sublime in that game and kept fat curtis well out of the game.
i thought crichton had gone back to where ever he came from anyway??

Good performance yeaterday we looked very much up for it. My man of the match has to go to Cav. I thought he was superb.

I think Crichton comes from Norwich which is why he doesn't always make to games. At his old club, York, the fans turned against him cos of something he said about them and the club. People were saying that he had gone at the last home game when he didn't turn up. He doen't always get to games and ,as i have said before, Danny or even JK would be better purely on the basis that they would be reliable.
Oh and another thing, what's the point in having 3 keepers?

Three 'keepers are essential when you only have 1 striker.

How about, 1 striker that occasionally scores and is fitr to play at Conference level???

This forum is becoming a major bore!!! I'll just leave it to the kids and illiterates from now on. Bye!

Re: Way to go Stanley

I also thought we'd got rid of Crighton. Can anyone explain why we keep trotting him out and leaving Danny on the bench. If it's about "tried and tested" we've tried Cripes and he's consistently dodgy. Danny on the other hand has a superb game whenever he's called upon, despite those games being few and far between. Imagine how good he'd be if we let him play regularly.

"nearly" might not cost us points but it doesn't half stress the fans out.

Eh? i don't get why having 3 keepers is related to only having one striker. Anyway, what about Mullin (assuming that you mean Mcevilly)?

Smiffy16 07-02-2005 10:46

Re: Way to go Stanley

I think Crichts experience is a major positive point for us,

He has his blips like any other player/keeper but he is a keeper who I believe currently is our best keeper at the club, He's been tremendous in the most games he has played for us.......

BIG BIG game on Saturday, so get yoursleves booked on the coach for a long but fun ultras away trip......and give your support to the lads down there

Your support makes a difference so get yourself on for £20 its a bargain!

Come on Stanley!
