Yes you were lucky

We matched you in the first half and played you off the field for most of the second. Scored a fantastic goal that ripped your defence apart. As many Town fans there as Accy fans surely?

You didn't deserve anything from the game. We would have taken a point before the game but this definitely feels like two points dropped. We're still in a good position, just 2 points off you lot in second but we have 2 games in hand on you.

Don't think much of your ground I'm afraid and you had poor support, especially when you consider how many we brought over the Pennines on a cold, Tuesday night. The fact that most of your stadium is not covered kills the atmosphere, but it isn't exactly a decent stadium in all fairness. In fact, it was the size and overall quality inspired a song which seemed to amuse your goal keeper, sung to the tune of O when the saints:

My garden shed
Is bigger than this
My garden shed is bigger than this
It's got a bench and a shovel
My garden shed is bigger than this.

Haha. I though Burnley must have been playing because you had no fans there but it turns out you are all Arsenal supporters really. The song "**** ground, no fans" really means something when you play at the IES.

Stewards were crap also. They predicted less than 500 from Halifax. What? A local derby and playing for second place? And then, whilst we're all crammed into the crappy away end (well it's not even an end, just a few steps) they open the empty stand behind the goal to you lot?? WHAT? You had half the stadium empty to yourselves. Then at half time they take you lot out of there and let US in!! Crazy.

Overall, thought we showed you lot exactly what we're capable of, which we didn't do at The Shay. You were very mediocre yesterday, we were brilliant at times and our goal was top class.

No doubt you lot will be happy to have taken 4 points from us this season. No doubt we will get points when we don't deserve it before the season ends too.

and you lot can't beat either of them. Oh Joy!!!!

Why keep singing "THE GAYMEN" or "COME ON GAYMEN" really funny that, so many people would be so open about there sexuality..........@ a football match....

Still you are from yorkshire...

Good luck for your season "GAYMEN"....

Smiffy16 23-02-2005 18:14

Re: Yes you were lucky

Your ground isnt even finished you have been building it for about 3 years and its been the same in that stand

Anyway I am more than happy with 4 points unbeaten against Halifax this season

Halifax, were men are men and sheep are scared

Full marks for originality!!! Brilliant

As for your fans you had less than 500 so get off your high horse and you seem to forget that Stanley were in Unibond 1st not too long ago so IES is hardly going to be the Nou Camp.

Anyhow, at least the IES is completed. I'd hate to play at a building site every week.

If you did`nt spend half the match time-wasting, you might have got a second goal to kill the game off so it`s your tactics that were pants. SOOO glad you enjoyed your visit to the IES, do come again!!

We gained a point we didn't "deserve"? How embarassing. Perhaps we should give it back.

The thing that shocks me isnt the result or how each team played.......Its that someone from Yorkshire has a computer and can use it....What next sheep going to school?

If we are having a sing-song, Never_Shay_Die, try this one for size, (to the tune of The Adams Family):

Your sister is your mother,
Your father is your brother.
You like to shag each other,
The yorkshire family!

Re: Yes you were lucky

We have seats at our grounds, the Skircoat Stand has 2,000 seats, which is more than that railway bridge stand of yours.

Oh and how long did it take you to think of 'Gaymen''? Congratulations that man. Were you the Eskimo man by any chance?

We've been building our East Stand for 5 years but nothing has happened to it for 3. The Shay is still an much better stadium that the IES, even with three stands complete, but I appreciate that you were in the Unibond not long ago.

Our East stand has been left standing for so long that further building work is prohibited as it has been listed as a protected building by the English Hertiage.

Had a laugh at your chants in the second half, sounded like 'There's only cat called Stanley' or something??

I DID thoroughly enjoy my night at Accystan, We had a good laugh and saw some good football, well from Town anyway. Agree that our tactics after going 1-0 up cost us the game though, but you were still never really threatened to score and were LUCKY to get the goal.

I'd love to draw you lot in the play-offs, then we'll see if we'll never beat the Stanley. I would hope to see a few more of your fans there though.

Only time will tell, but good luck anyway. Genuinely hope you get there. All the other teams up there are Southern, except Carlisle who are slipping out of it.

hahahahahahaha yes 'cos you are clearly soooooooooooooo much better than us to be a MASSIVE 2 points ahead of us.

Oh no, how are we gonna catch you up? Prick.

Smiffy16 23-02-2005 21:20

Re: Yes you were lucky

You need to get those 'two points' first! At least we have played and got the two points in which we are ahead of you with, its alright saying "oh we have 2 games in hand and only 2 points behind you", but you have to get the points out of the game first of all,

See you in the play-offs :)

Re: Yes you were lucky

I'm a Yorkshire born Stanley fan.... They played us off the park. I would like to see their No12 playing for us, he played evil very well. What about 19, Howell. He would be an asset. Having said that, we did not give up and got a vital point. So from one Yorkshire Stanley fan, away the boys and come on Stanley

Smiffy16 23-02-2005 21:27

Re: Yes you were lucky

Yep I agree they were the better side but the game finished 1-1, both teams sharing the points, they did play better BUT they never capitalised and took all three points.

We showed them how to play the beautiful game at The Shay on the 3rd January 2005 :)

PS Are you still picking up them streamers!?

Adam - you really must stop ranting on about our ground being finished, because if it comes to pass that we get promoted this season, then our ground will be a building site whilst the cow shed on the whinney hill side is demolished and a new stand built. Correct me if i am wrong please, but I believe plans have been passed for this and only awaiting funding from the Football league on promotion. The other thing is i believe the clayton end roof will eventually be erected, probably during the warmer part of the season.

Yep we have got planing permission for that side of the ground, i got told we will be building it into a near exact same stand as the one oppsoite if we get promoted

Re: Yes you were lucky

never shay die , you're hardly a good advert for you're club.
yes we were lucky and i think everyone admits that, but to come on our site and be so insulting is out of order.
unlike you we do not have a recent league history to talk of and the club is still growing all the time, so cut us some slack.
you have the word of a bitter man or woman, are you sorry coz we nicked 2points of you and have taken 4 over the two fixtures?

AccyMad 24-02-2005 10:01

Re: Yes you were lucky

I think that sums it up nicely Stanerlee, we all know our lads were nowhere near as good as they can be on Tuesday but they didn't give up & in the end deserved the draw.

Steve Sumner 24-02-2005 19:33

Re: Yes you were lucky

We were not lucky- we played to the final whistle & put the deserved equaliser in at the 89th minute & we had two good chances in the first half to have sent you in two down. Plus the fight for second spot came to the Stanley- If u are technically minded enough to use a computer try the current teletext ITV page 430 conference league table!!!
We will all be biased towards our own clubs but outplayed us-dont think so otherwise it wouldn't have finished 1-1. Nice of your players to be civilised to the female ref though, never heard so many "please miss" from Yorkshire inbreds. The only dissapointment for you lot was that you played on grass & there were no sheep around-Ba Ba.http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...cons/icon6.gif

Re: Yes you were lucky

You lot got more than you deserved. Your boring endless time-wasting was abysmal from a team in your position in the table. After Smithy came on you were well rattled and lucky not to lose the game. Incidentally, how did it feel to be beaten on your building site in front of the TV cameras? Methinks those Yorkie grapes are somewhat soureth!
