to the conference north
hes on hes way

Re: Paul Crichton on hes way

Paul Crichton hasn't been the greatest keeper we've seen at the Crown Ground , but he deserves our respect for having travelled a daft distance to play for us and for doing his best - which was , occasionally , very good indeed.

On the day that Stanley travelled to the Shay (you remember - an away win and lots of streamers, etc) I told my old Halifax schoolmates that we would beat Town unless our goalie performed as usual , and that he was our weak link. After the match , while I was collecting my winnings (about eight pints) from the shell-shocked Halifax fans I was told in no uncertain fashion that I didn't know what the hell I was talking about , that our 'keeper had kept us in the match and that he - Paul Crichton - was the finest goalkeeper to have visited the Shay so far this season .

So thanks, Paul , for your hard work and occasional brilliance . Just work on the positioning and leave the roving pitch inspection to the groundsman, eh ?
