A fair point , Kipax. The word "most" is inappropriate , and I should have said "many". The last thing I would want to do is to be disrespectful to the hard-working volunteers who help the Club in so many ways. I think my previous posts indicate this quite strongly , so I can only offer the excuse that on this occasion I'd been finding it difficult to sleep - but I was obviously more tired at 4.30 than I thought !

My dull brain had also failed to remember that Rob posted a reply quite recently to a question about the "early toss-up" , explaining that referees were having to watch their own backs in this matter and often wouldn't sanction the new procedure. Sorry for that , Rob !

Memo to self : Don't post at such ungodly hours, or you're likely to regret it.
