Passion

Congratulations to all the players, Coley and the management team for an inspired performance yesterday. The two new signings came good big time, the midfield hunted down their opponents mercilessly, and the defence stood firm against Stevenage's big, dangerous hit men. JK oozed confidence which spread right through the team. The only disappointment was how Paul Mullin missed a double hat-trick, having given his marker and the goalie a nightmare match. Roberts was Adam Cottier's man of the match - do we all agree, especially a certain young lady?

roberts was class..played part in both opening goals and looked full of running..10 out of 10!

JK was the official man of the match

Jk was man of the match for me;under really bad conditions;slippery ball and muddy pitch he looked confident all the way thru.He was stoked to get the award after the game, well chuffed to see him back.

Re: Passion

nice to see jk back inbetween the sticks.

roberts was class and can easily take rory's place should he decide to leave.

where were stevenage though ,i thought they would give us a game.

Accroding to todays NLP David brown was the man of the match. BTW read the comments in the Fans Forum 'bout all our managers coaching from the stands in the Burton match. Seems we have about 4 managers and any number of coaches - just coz they were wearing Nationwide jackets. What a bunch of w*****s

lol some people really are idiots!

Althought I agree about roberts he looks a great signing! maybe he was signed as rory's replacement for if/when he leaves in the summer?

Re: Passion

I think Roberts and Jon Kennedy shared MOTM ratings. Could be Rory has shot himself in the foot recently - he may not get back in the team again this season. JK, especially bearing in mind how long he's been out, was excellent. You got the feeling the rest of the team trusted his expertise and it was great to see a ball from our 'keeper kicked straight down the field instead of wide or out of play. Well done to everyone concerned.

On the subject of passion and Burton's Brewers (not subjects that sit easily together) I noted they represented the Conference in a FA Trophy semi-final this week-end and over two legs managed to lose 7-0!!! Well done, Niggle & Co.They are, of course, a disgrace to the Conference but then we knew that already, didn't we?

Re: Passion

I agree Redraine...........

Fantastic match and a lot of positives... Most of all ROBERTS he is ACE :) Fast, Commited, Clever, Attack-minded, Etc

Just as I was getting a bit worried about the Rory situation, up pops Coley with Roberts..

Dont get me wrong I REALLY like Rory and want him to play for Stanley along with roberts for years to come... But if rory wants to Go then roberts has just made that possibility a lot more acceptable.....

Re: Passion

You could sense something when Roberts had the ball. He was very much involved in three of our goals and really impressed me and I look forward to seeing him playing with Rory (one can only hope). I am sure Roberts can play on the right so with him there and Rory on the left we will have a great attacking force down the wings!

Re: Passion

Got to agree with you all.... Roberts was a revelation, real class!!
But, JK was, in my opinion, absolutely superb!! If a certain other GK had been between the sticks, does anyone really think we'd have had the same result??

Think JK definately MOTM for me, BUT, if Mullen had had a little more luck, we'd be celebrating a six goal 'hero'!!

Unfortunately, my last game of the season, (unless we make playoffs), as am shortly off on hols. Had timed it to be back for Aldershot on 30th, but then some b****r re-arranged it for 19th!!!!!

Ho-Hum! That's life!

Re: Passion

JK said before the match he was pleased to be back playing at the interlink. And he proved it by putting on a superb display even his doubters pre injury were behind him. Roberts was class and I think he went out there to prove something and to show what he can do, the passion he showed was top class. JK just sneaks in with MOTM for me

Re: Passion

There wasn't a bad performance from a Stanley player on Saturday.

MOTM could have been anyone.

JK won the Official plaudits , and deservedly so.

Gary Roberts won the popular vote - and with a performance like that , can you be surprised ?

My own favourite on the day was David Brown. He seemed to perform in an entirely different way to anyone else ; the only time I've ever seen anything like it is when I've watched peregrine falcons above the Yorkshire Dales. They float around knowing exactly what's happening , and then - woosh!

He was marvellous with his head , in every sense of the word.

Full marks for every single Stanley player !

There was only one set of people that let us down on Saturday...the Accrington public.

1251 for a team on the verge of the play-offs? Very poor indeed, rain or no rain.

Re: Passion

What Can I say? . . . . .JK back between the sticks and all of a sudden the enitire defensive unit looks solid!!!

No offence to Danny I'm sure it wouldn't be too much different with him in the sticks either, but Thank god a certain person who shall remain nameless has gone as we could easily have lost on saturday with his inability to handle the ball in decent conditions never mind belting down rain and a greasy pitch!!!

I have to say a very well done to all the lads on saturday I thought they all worked thier socks off, and finally we got our rewards.

JK was definatley my man of the match though, which by my reckoning makes it 2 MOTM performances in a week. Not bad after 6 months out!!!:D
Well done Jon.

Re: Passion

yeah i agree JK's confidence spread through out the team and more of the same at the kingfield!
