Special Photo Competition !!

Right all those of you that like editing and manipulating photos here is your chance to show your skill.
You have till Sat 31st May to pick one of your photos and alter it in any way you want.
Then upload a before and after photo so you upload 2 photos only.
With a bit of info on what editing software you used and how you did it.
The Photo with the most votes on Sunday 1st June at 10pm will win a 4 gig flash drive as seen in the photo.

WHEN MEMBERS VOTE PLEASE VOTE ON THE ALTERED PHOTO ONLY
It MUST BE YOUR OWN PHOTO and the rules in the gen photo competition apply ie: all your own work.

I dont think that ive any software to do this. Must ask mum to see if she has anything - which just shows im gonna be pants because ive never done this before lol

Dont worry im with you! im more likley to make the photo a mess than improve it!:( cracking prize aswell.

The usual software for this is Photoshop which is very good but very expensive

95% of teh same functionality is available from The GIMP which is totally free!!!!

Its not, I've done stuff like this on REALLY old kit. it takes a little longer butis still perfectly do-able!

Thanks for that Entwisi. I already have it installed when i got the computer , but don't know how to use it . Is it the same tutorial for photoshop ??

pretty much, teh menus will be slightly different but levels is levels, curves is curves etc

have a look at teh tutorials I posted

My problem is that when I play about with a photo I tend to forget what it is I've done. I just fiddle and tweak until I get something I like.

Well I’ve added my bit. It’s one that I did ages ago and I think it was Serif Photo plus that I used to edit the photo.

Here is another one that I did while I was playing about. I’ll not enter it into the comp as we are only allowed to have one entry. I’ll post it here as it might give you some ideas.

the third one would look excellent in a frame on a wall Len, without the hair over her face obviously
