Black & White, contrast and tones are a bit off in the coloured one, looks artificial

Retlaw.

Depends on how you want us to judge it Jedimaster. The coloured one is more pleasing and inviting, whereas, agree with Emamum on the black and white, looks like Dracula is going to emerge any minute.

If it for technical reasons, then the black and white ..but I don't know ought about photography really.. :D

Black and white.

The grass looks so acidically green it would give me a headache.

Not a comment on your undoubted photographic skills, just an observation on the subject matter's colour.:)

I'm in agreement with Accyweb's Brian Sewell. I've never seen grass that colour.

It seems more real in black and white which because of its age suits better. Dont think the photographer is to blame for the grass as it looks spray painted.

the grass is real, this all came about as i've been advised by a few pro's to get a photo editing suite and i was having a play around with it - it seems pro photographers are very critical of images that haven't been messed with and imho oversaturated (hence the need for sunglasses).
how about this one for looking fake then. Think I prefer to stick to B&W

Re: which do you prefer?

Jedi that tweeked one you put up looks like it is there to make people hughie. Ok tweek if needed but as little as possible as it can remove the character of the picture.

Re: which do you prefer?

Just found an image with the dark sky and lightening, opened up both images in Gimp, put one over the other and masked out the parts you dont need.
Only took a couple of mins, take your time and you can make a good job.
