The lodges up the Coppice are known as the Slate Pits. They were as you say waters on Hyndburn and Blackburn A.A books.
There were a good variety of Coarse fish in them. But the club may have netted...

I remember Leonards chip shop in Ranger Street. The shop always used to be full. Queueing down the side of the counter, sat on the long bench and at times spilling out that you had to sit on wall...

I will give that a whirl. Usually go to Divine in Warner Street thats a nice clean place and good food. They make a really good hot chocolate with marshmallow.:)

I spent many Happy hours in Queens. The log fire made it feel homely. Really miss that place. Cant rememember the fire in 60s though can you.
