I have recently discovered an ancestor living on castle street on 1881 census , its not on any maps any more so i assume its been pulled down years ago but i wonder if it was near the Castle Pub ?

My mum and auntie's worked there must of been late 70's perhaps early 80's always remember the smell on their fingers as a kid growing up, was always referred to "Rishy" crisps

when i first stated work i used to pedal that way on my bike , i didn't realise you could still get through ,i thought they'd blocked it off at the Harwood end when they extended the industrial estate

Cant remember the full details , the waste company is based right down the bottom near the river i think by turning left just before the Hyndburn Bridge pub on Whalley rd , the single lane track goes...

I think there was some opposition down there to waste company wanting to expand and it was thought that there was going to be an increase in vermin smell and flies etc
