I remember my mum telling me that her brother Tiny and Arthur were great mates, they went to Blackpool one weekend and came back with a donkey, they walked all the way back with it to my grandads...

My nan worked in the co-op when I was a little girl. She lived in Countess Street and we lived in Park Road. There was a stool by the counter and a lovely wooden floor.

Remember Essies you could buy five number 6 cigs in a sweet bag lol. The chippy on plantation street was brilliant and the Ledger was the pub my uncle used along I believe with Jo Mortimer?

The Plantation Street 'gang' in the 60's spent many happy days over those hills. Gamblers Caves was always somewhere to explore. We swam in the lodges on the Coppice and had our bonfires on the...
