Re: P C Phillips

Interesting to see all of the views. I am of the opinion that until society addresses the education of would-be parents, the undisciplined offspring will continue to be the scurge of global decency....

Exile in West Lancs.

It's time to correct my manners. Hello all, I fell into the 'web' by accident when browsing articles on Church Kirk. I grew up there, but moved away in my teens. I'm a keen gardener, budding artist...

Re: Bird feeding

Hi maxthecollie, so glad that your dog sorts out the pigeon problem. My pigeons are very thick skinned. I have four dogs and the pigeons still persist, the dogs chasing around have no effect, in fact...

Re: Bird feeding

Good morning Barrie, many thanks for your words of advice. I'd be glad to hear of the cat deterring plant. A slightly relieved daisybeth!

Re: Bird feeding

I agree Barrie, it's a perfect way for containing homemade foodstuff, sadly I have marauding squirrels that take or destroy anything I use to feed my feathered friends. The pigeons also upset my...

Re: Bird feeding

Hi Rowlf, good to hear of your visiting Goldcrest, we had one in the garden last year. Our rarest visitor has been a Blackcap and my most thrilling sight was a Barn owl which swooped low enough [only...

Re: Bird feeding

Re bird feeding entries. Go cheap [cheep!] to feed your feathered friends. Try melting a little lard in a saucepan then add any old bisciut/cake/bread crumbs, even broken dog biscuits. Mix in any...

Re: wanted any e j riley

I'm not able to provide any history except that my grandfather probably had a hand in making said table. He worked for E.J. Riley for many years constructing tables. I have his spirit level and also...

Question not aimed at me but
I remember the Church Kirk junior school teachers, - Miss Grimshaw, Mrs Hogan, Miss Hope {good at rapping knuckles if you misbehaved!], Miss Hoyle and Mr Chew, not...

Re: Thorn Inn
