I have seen this rather late in the day I fear. From 1947 to 1965 I used to live at Waterloo, 124 Whalley Road in Accrington.

There were four houses in the row (occupants in brackets) - 120...

I am late in finding this thread. It was my great grandfather, Richard Walton Kenyon, whose firm Entwisle & Kenyon made the Ewbank Carpet Sweeper. They operated from Ewbank Works behind Cannon...

I have heard that the first penalty in the football league was scored by Wolverhapton Wanderers against Accrington Stanley - or was it against Accrington Reds?

Pleased to see the Ewbank connection. Richard Walton Kenyon was my great grandfather. See Tiverton museum site for his own account of how he came to amke the Ewbank.
